  1. Canadianice, I bought that concert about a month ago. I bought the blu-ray/DVD package. I wish he had offered the audio cd's with this release. I'm sure that somewhere in the near future he'll make them available to his fans. I discovered Frank Marino and mahogany rush in 1975 through the columbia record club. Never heard a note from this band before I pushed the 8-track into the slot. Needless to say, they/he became a forever band for me(like Rush, UFO, & Robin Trower, all of which I discovered in 1975. I've only watched 2 hours of the full concert, and can't wait to get back to it. I loved every note he played. By the way, have you seen that he's going on tour around April 2020. He booked a show at a club called the Vault, in New Bedford, Mass. about 30 minutes from my house. My good friend just bought 7 tickets to the show. I never thought this late into his career, I would ever see him live. A dream come true.
  2. "Maybe things will get better, don't you know that a drowning man don't get no wetter, and the same rain falls on you, falls on me." Robin Trower, Same Rain Falls Awesome Quote! Throughout the 40 plus years since I first heard that song, that line pops into my thoughts for no reason, and always makes me smile at the brilliance and simple truth that those words say.

  3. Earl, I have to disagree with your belief that UFO is on the downslide. They've never put out a bad album, and the stuff they've done with Vinnie Moore over the last 14 years is top shelf! However I will agree with your comment about the proper way to listen to music, which is on a kick-ass stereo, in the comfort of your own house. Every weekend starting on Friday, I crank my stereo to the perfect volume and do an album(cd), a beer, and a bone, then repeat about six or seven times. Full albums, mind you. f***in' heaven!

  4. 42 years ago, at the age of 18, I saw Rush for the first time at the Springfield Civic Center, Ma., opening for Foghat. Got there late, and could hear 2112 playing from outside the arena. Great start to my lifetime of seeing Rush live everytime they toured close to Providence, R.I., right up to their last tour.
  5. yes I agree, the new Schenker album is excellent, but I like the album he released before that more. However as long as Schenker is recording new music I'm there for the ride. What an awesome career that man has had. In my opinion, based on his longevity and enormous catalog of original music, he may be the best rock guitar player ever. Certainly one of my favorite. Rock on, Michael!
