  1. Some Rush fans are a trip, find crap to complain If you must, but the Tampa show was the best I have seen in 30 years of attending Rush shows. Memorial weekend show on the 24th of May...kind of appropriate they played LP! The crowds at the Tampa shows are always rowdy, this one rocked from from song one, highlight of he first set surprisingly was DEW, that song ROCKED, Animate a close second. The band played very well, and enthusiastic, including Mr.Peart who was witnessed smiling on several occasions.

second set was a dream for this fan, and we got the extra song NS which was cool, Alex actually messed up the solo on TS, I guess we should have all gone home since they weren't perfect LOL. Xanadu was the highlight of the second set, the double necks were a nice surprise although I don't think Ged played both necks, Alex however sure did. Its worth noting that Alex used about 10 different very bad arse les pauls during the show, plus the obligatory Strat, and Tele. VERY COOL! Neils solo defied logic, even Ged led the crowd in an enthusiastic cheer after that one. Geds voice was quite good all night, including the 70s cuts, I cant say I have ever left a Rush show judging it by how well Ged sang, no he didn't sound like he did when he was thirty because.. well... hes not.

The encore was incredible, if they had given me a pen and said pick four, I would have quickly wrote down LP, ANTH, WYD and maybe In The Mood instead of WM but Alex shredded that solo. Never thought TTM show would be topped, I was wrong.

I prefer the outdoor AMP for shows, but THIS light show belonged indoors, and it seemed much louder which I liked, problem is if your not on floor seats (17th row center for me) the sound can suck which I heard from a couple people post show.

How these three can still perform like that for 2 1/2 hrs with THAT set list boggles, it was pretty darn cool to see full blown proper old school arena rock show, you could see the band and crowd feed off each other, it was special night.

  2. I went to the website but can't figure out how to look at the pictures. Pressing on the left and right arrows on the displayed photo doesn't seem to work. Is it an ipad flaw? Or an operator flaw?

It's a website flaw :( If you click on one of the concert links then it inserts that photo into the frame, but the quality is so poor that you can't really see the photo. I emailed them using the form on this page and asked them for better-quality photos that we can see, because who would buy a photo they cannot see first. I also asked them to put up for sale unframed photos at a cheaper price. If many people also suggest these two things then maybe they will think about doing them.

Thanks for the tip! I would like to see more fan pictures.

  4. How much money does it cost Rush to bring their show to Europe?

    Anyone know?

i feel for our fellow UK and European Rush fans!

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall reading they make very little profit when touring UK and Europe as it is so expensive to transport their show across the pond.

After seeing them in Tampa last week (which was awesome), I felt Alex and Neil both looked very "literally" tired. And after reading their respective narratives in the R40 tourbook, sadly, it looks like the end of the line. That being said, I think they deserve to enjoy the rest of their lives with their families.

  5. I wish the dalmation shirt and the Roman Numeral "41" shirt had the tour dates on the back.

Also, I noticed on Backstage Club that the Starman R40 shirt (with tour dates on back) and the long sleeve R40 shirt that has emblems of Neil's drumkit on the sleeves are selling like hotcakes!

  6. Thanks for your replies. I have been checking Ebay and the few that are on there do not have the dates on the back or are bootlegs. The ones currently for sale at Rush Backstage Club only have the 2013 tour dates on the back and they told me they do not have any 2012 left in stock and are not likely to re-print them. :o(
  7. Was on the lawn with one of my bros and my nephew last night. Belated birthday present for both of them. Thank God it didn't rain like it did the night before at the Reds/Giants game. That was a deluge! Anyway, I have to say Geddy's voice was OUTSTANDING last night. Love it. He was carrying out some notes extendedly and beautifully. And, oh yeah, he has a NICE B-ASS too :o) Alex seemed to be happy too. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves last night and it showed. I think it may be close to a magic show, or at least a really "on" night for them. Thanks for a great show Rush! The crowd represented and I was glad to see not a lot of cell phones in the air. Only complaint was a lot of sight-line blockage from the lawn and astroturf, but the whole crowd stood out there so it didn't matter.

It was a wonderful night for my other bro as he was at the Reds game to witness the no hitter from Homer AND he got the homer baseball hit by Frazier into the left field stands the night before (with a little help from me :o) He has been a diehard Reds fan since he was 7 years old. I am so happy for him. We didn't think that night could be topped....but Rush and a no-hitter certainly did.

Our visit from Florida is making us want to move to Cinci.

  8. I loved it all and am sad they ovation didn't make the HBO show as it's unbelievably moving. Maybe they thought it made the other inductees feel bad, who knows. As far as Rush's performance, I was hoping they would do The Garden or Wish Them Well which I think the general non-listening public would've enjoyed since The Garden flows nicely and Wish Them Well has a nice hook, then YYZ or another instrumental to show off their chops. Did anyone notice how Alex as holding the trophy when they first walked up? I was like "Oh no, he didn't."
  9. Had such a great time at this show! Sound was totally awesome. We were on Geddy's side in Section 104. Love the Ged. He was very, very animated and seemed to really be enjoying himself. Neil was awesome, even saw him goofing with Alex. That was nice to see. Alex was not as affable as usual and noticable problems with gear. But his playing of course is always top notch. Could hear the strings really well too, which I enjoyed. Saw a cute little munchkin get a pair of Neil's sticks. Hope to see them again in Cincinnati. Please go see RUSH if you can on this tour. After so many great years of touring, I get a feeling these guys are ready (and need) a long, long break after this tour. I know I would be! xoxox
