  1. I've been wanting to see this since the first teaser came out months ago...although interest has been waning slowly...but I'm pretty excited. Reviews have been mostly good, even a few going as far to say it's a "rebirth" of the monster movie.

I'm fairly shy around new people, except when I'm drunk. So being social, and the occasional woman.
Oh oh oh and once, I went to the casino on a whim even though I shouldn't have, won 200 playing Omaha Hi-Lo, took 50 of that to the craps table and turned it into around 300 more. biggrin.gif

    you're occasionally a woman?

    how does that work?

Add "bagging" before "the occasional woman."

The Genoa Bar (oldest bar in Nevada!)

and the J&T (best basque bar around = packed & wild Xmas eve, New years and carson valley days).

I had a meal at a Basque restaurant in Reno a number of years ago. I remember it being quite good, though I don't really remember any details about the meal. I don't think it was the one that you mentioned, though. We walked a number of blocks from downtown Reno. This was about 1996 or so.

Probably Louie's, a couple of blocks east of the main drag. Did you try a Picon, by any chance?

Louie's is the one jammed between the casinos, tucked away, right? It is pretty good, and Picon is one hell of an interesting cocktail.

I usually drink at home or at friend's places, but if I'm in a bar mood, Fritz's is okay, Shea's is better..love a good Irish bar with corned beef and cabbage.

Edit - It was bugging me because I knew Louie's wasn't right, and after some surprisingly difficult googling, the place I was thinking of is jammed behind Harrah's and is just called "Santa Fe Hotel Basque Family Style Dining" or something like that, and it's way better than Louie's.

Never been to the Santa Fe. I see you're at U of N? ohmy.gif

Yep, just getting ready to start the hardest semester yet. laugh.gif

You should really try that place though, way better than Louie's.

I watch both....I still prefer Bear though. If I was stranded somewhere, I'd rather have him. Les is kind of old and is all 'conservation'-ish, even when he's stuck in the middle of nowhere for a week.

All survival manuals will tell you that in a survival situation it is best to be conservative. You should conserve food, energy, supplies, etc.

    No, no, I know that.

I mean, he's stuck out there and doesn't even want to eat anything or hurt trees because he's an environmentalist.

  6. Hockey is best live, even though I've really only attended minor league games in regularity when I was younger. Best on tv as well, centre ice ftw.

Football is second, never been to an NFL game, just college games and played in high school.

I HATE baseball on TV, but it's fun to go to a game.

lol @ darts....I watched it occasionally. ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTYYYY! laugh.gif

Just finished Next by Crichton this morning, loved it except for the ending. But I wasn't really reading it for the story.

What were you reading it for, then? Just curious.

The science. I'm planning on attending graduate school for microbiology, so it was fairly relevant to my interests. smile.gif

And I loved Prey as well. In fact, I love most of his work.
