    Rap.

Though I almost didnt vote for it, because I dont really concider it music. Just a bunch of talking about how you got shot nine times to a beat.

I just have a General distaste for Rap, and many other stuff.

    not all of it. ohmy.gif

  3. There are rumors going around that Emma wasn't going to do any more movies. Wasn't it a year ago before the making of OOTP...Dan said that he wasn't going to do any more movies after 5? Well now he says he will do the rest.

I for one think that Emma will come back. If any major characters leave...thats it.

Were not saying its not bad, but after years of playing you should have your own style down, not copying what your favorite player does..

Why? Is this a rule that I missed in the guitar rule book?

I have developed a style of lead playing that I would call my own but I don't like to write music so what's the harm in playing along with Rush CD's all the time? I do other things but if paying tribute to my favorite guitarist was all I wanted to do and I concentrated on sounding like that guitarist...what's the big deal? Does that make me less of a guitar player than you because you have a "style"?

I think of it in another way: After years of playing, you should know what your strengths are and know what you enjoy doing with your talent.

    I concur

I always play along with Rush cds and other bands. I personally just got sick of trying to "be" Peart. trink39.gif

Neil is more about the technical aspect, Bonzo is more about the feel and the groove, both are absolute tops in what they do. No point in comparing them. End of thread.

    Exactly. goodpost.gif

    Neil wears better hats.

  6. Zildjan 5A Hickory wood tip....this is the golden ticket. Too bad they chip and break waaaaay too fast. My friend told me to soak a cloth in water...ring it out and cover the drumsticks with the cloth...it will moist the sticks...therefore less breakage. No wonder they break...coming from Taiwan to Calgary....the driest city in Canada lol.

    I'm done with Peart 747's cool.gif

  7. Now that i'm older and don't really care about Rush as much (I used to be obsessed)....I think my style has changed. I used to just do whatever Neil did...because he's great. Well thats changed...since I have discovered new music over 3 years time. Now i'm not like Rush/neil (sounding) and i'm glad. That was a huge problem for me back in the day. smile.gif trink39.gif

can i raise the bridge to fix this problem??

maybe a new set of strings will help?

How old are the strings? What gauge are they?

Find a good luthier or guitar tech in your area and ask them to do a full setup on your guitar. It's well worth the 50 or so dollars . It can make even a shit guitar play wonderfully.

    Totally agree. trink39.gif

Gotta be RUSH for at least 2 1/2 hours...3 or more better...will have to start early to have an opening band. WOuld love to see DT open for them but then again, doesn't seem too many RUSH and DT fans get along sad.gif In any case I'm seeing RUSH this tour cause there ain't nothin' better than a RUSH concert!!! 1022.gif

lol...I would go, just to see people clash in the stands. Funny as hell!

Gary Moore is great, but there's no reason for Rush to abandon their "An Evening With" format. Three hours is barely enough to get in all the songs they want to...adding an opening act would just cut into that. Nope, cant see this happening.

"An evening with Rush" would be ideal, but I was hoping for Rush/Arcade Fire, who's album comes out in March I believe.

NOW that would be just brilliant! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif trink39.gif
