In The Mood.

Cold Fire. Such an awesome song.

For me it's gotta be 2112! Way better than S&A IMO.
-
I've learned Journey - Separate Ways on keyboard yesterday. A really nice synth-driven song to play.

we use that here too
Yeah, alot of countries in Europe use H for B and B for B flat.

And btw... In the "Floodlit in the hazy distance" chord progression, the last chord is Asus2/E, not Asus2/4 (it's a typo).

QUOTE (DifferentStages87 @ Dec 3 2007, 09:18 PM) does anyone know the notes for the countdown keyboard solo??
thanks -
Started to learn Genesis - In The Cage keyboard solo today, gotta brush it up to make it sound well. It's pretty complex to focus on the left and right hand in the same time...
-
The Camera Eye - an oscillating LFO synth sound (sample and hold) at the beginning of the song
La Villa Strangiato - when the guitar bursts out (2:00) and Geddy's awesome bass solo (6:11 - 6:14)
Turn The Page - intro bassline and the warm synth sound (0:39 - 0:40)
Middletown Dreams - part right after Alex's guitar solo (3:12)
Between The Wheels - PPG bell synth sound in choruses
Synth solos on Countdown and Subdivisions
...And of course, etc.

Really easy but fun to play! Say, what are the chords for that? I'm terrible at playing keyboard by ear.
Here you go, intro chord progression:
Dsus4 F/C Am G F Em F G F (4x)
Repeat the same thing in the first chorus but play it two times instead of four.
Second chorus + guitar solo (it's a bit different):
Dsus4 F/C Am G F Em F G F Dsus4 F/C G F Dsus4 F/C Am G F Em F G F Dsus4 F/C
Play slower and slower (retard) at the end:
Am G F Em F G F
Enjoy
Thanks man, really appreciate it. Couldn't find it anywhere.
This is why I love TRF!
No problem. If you want something more from Rush, just ask.
What does sus mean? I can't believe I don't know, I've been playing piano for 11 years now.
Also, does anyone know the chords in Red Sector A? I have a good idea, but I don't the exact chords.
Sus means suspended chord. This is the type of chords that you usually must finish with some other chord progression.
Sus4 example - if you have the C chord (C E G), play the perfect fourth instead of major third and you will get the Csus4 (C F G).
Sus2 example - if you have the C chord (C E G), play the major second instead of major third and you will get the Csus2 (C D G).
In Chemisty you have Dsus4, and that means you suspend the D chord (in this case Dm). Play the perfect fourth instead of minor third to get the Dsus4 (D G A).
It's pretty simple, enjoy!

This means I'll help you again.
BTW this is very complicated to explain so I'll try my best to help you. This isn't the whole song, this is only transcription of the harder parts in song. I think you know the rest of it...
"Floodlit in the hazy distance" chord progression:
Asus4/E (not sure about its name, but the tones are E, A and D with E in bass) A/E Em7 Asus2/4
Solo 1:
D A 'D D A 'D D D' H G D H G D H A G F C A F C A F C F H G D H G D H A G A D A 'D D A 'D D D' H G D H G D H A G F C
Solo 2:
D A 'D D A 'D D D' H G D H G D H A G F C A F C A F C F H G D H
Play the following part octave lower than the previous one:
D A 'D D A 'D D D' H G D H G D H A G F C D E F G A H C D E D C H G A G F E D G F E D A G F D F G A H A G C H A D C H E D C F E D G F D A G D C
Then do the glissando and play:
C H A H A G E F G F E D E D C D C D C H A H C D H C D E C D E F A
' = play octave lower
Use modulation wheel for expression in the song.
Enjoy and tell me if I wrote something wrong (I'm really tired).

Keyboards from Chemistry. Really easy but fun to play!
-
Hyperspace section owns, especially the 7/8 part!
-
Middletown Dreams. Excellent and very atmospheric song.
-
La Villa Strangiato. Awesome instrumental.
-
Subdivsions... Incredible lyrics, incredible basslines, incredible synth solos, incredible drum fills... Incredible song!!!
-
I love the whole album, but I voted for Tom Sawyer. This is the Rush's best known song (along with Subdivisions), so I've chosen this one.
-
I have Roland D-50, Yamaha DX7, Korg SP-200 and M-Audio Axiom25. D-50 is my favourite synth because you can program (or download) some really interesting digital/analog sounds... Actually very nice for Rush songs!
