Tesla opened for Ted Nugent at Pine Knob in 2013 and I was in the front row. Tesla put on a great show and rev'd up the crowd for Ted. Good times...

I saw The Anderson Ponty Band on Saturday. It was a really entertaining show. They performed a number of Yes tunes, a few from JLP that Jon had added lyrics to, some new JA & JLP compositions and at least one JA collaboration from the past ("State of Independence" from Jon and Vangelis "Friends of Mr. Cairo) that is a favorite of mine from my first year of college. The played for nearly 3 hours and really kept the show interesting. Jon's voice is in top form and I enjoyed Jean-Luc's violin far more than I expected. If you can see a version of Yes that includes Jon, or the ARW tour, I think you'll enjoy the show... Rock on!

Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks.

He was a different sort of a cat, haha...but put on a great show, with a good dose of humor.

That's the truth! These photos are from a couple of shows I saw at Yoshi's in Oakland, CA, in late-ish 2012. Big fun and always a great rockin' time!

The guy in the background was my guitar teacher...or tried to be...I'm not really a musician after all, so his very professional skills were lost on my fat fingers and lack of rhythm. Oh well... I still try and love playing... Rock on!

  4. I know what I'll be listening to on my long drive back to the homeland on Thursday night. It's not a great forecast but there certainly is plenty of RUSH expected! Rock on!

  7. I love all the old stuff up to and including Music From The Elder. I saw them in Milwaukee, on the Destroyer tour and from the front row for Dynasty. This was the very last show of the original line-up before Peter left the band the first time... The Sports Arena in Toledo, OH. A long, cold day outside in December to among the very first to get into the venue for a true "general admission" show. I only remember the moment that Gene rose up from the stage floor and started his antics and using up the one roll of 110 "Instamatic" film I had with me in less than two songs (except for remembering to save one shot to catch Gene's fire breathing, which I did pretty well). At the end of the show, Paul place his destroyed guitar into my hands but I was immediately mobbed and the thing got ripped from my grasp. I did end up with one of Gene's picks from the night but that has long since been lost. I wish I knew then how important music and the memorabilia would end up later in my life and I would have fought harder to keep Paul's guitar and would never have let Gene's pick and the ticket stuff from that night vaporize. I do still have the bootleg T-shirt that I bought out in the parking lot after the show... it has Rock 'n' Roll Over cover art on a yellow-sleeved T that is now thread-bare but still fun to show off to anybody who knows the good old days of the band... Good times... Rock ON!

Great Story Huge! I still have my ticket stub (and Cheap Trick tour book) from the 13 July 1979 gig at Pontiac Silverdome and much of the memorabilia from those days. (The two comic books, KISS cards, posters, photos, etc.) What a magical time it was.

July 13th was 11 days before I saw them - and you got Cheap Trick ?!?!?! .. That is fantastic

The band New England opened when I saw them July 24th at MSG .. I had no idea about opening bands, and when New England came out, I was like "HOLY SH!T, THEY ARE NOT WEARING THE MAKEUP" lol ..

The Rockets opened in Toledo...they had a single "hit" with their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well"... I remember just wanting them to get to that one "hit" and to get off the stage... BRING ON KISSS, already!!!

    Rock ON!!!

  10. Sold the ticket...

    That is all... Rock on!

I had a front row seat for the Saturday show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in YYZ but due to an emergency at my home, had to cancel the trip. I sold my ticket to a friend of RushGirl but wonder if any other Rush fans went to any of the three K.C. shows this past weekend. I was soooo disappointed that I had to cancel but I did catch this line-up twice in 2014, so didn't miss out completely.

Did any of you go to one (or more) of these Toronto shows (or maybe one of the Montreal or Q.C. gigs)? Share your experience here if you did...

    Rock on!
