    Dreaming about Rush

    My Rush dream

     

    When I was 7 or 8 ('78 or '79ish), I was starting to listen to Rush. I had a mixed tape that was my brother's (who was 16) that had a bunch of songs from the first few albums that I would play over and over again. I still remember that at the end of side 2, it had La Villa and after it ended it cut straight to the end of Before and After (starting with the second to last set of yeahs) as my brother had recorded over the tape a couple of times.

     

    Anyway, one night my brother sneaks back into the house into our room at like 5:00 in the morning and starts playing music (we shared a loft room on the second floor) which wakes me up. I fall back to sleep and soon start having this crazy dream where I'm in a cave and find a guitar and then shortly after this I'm on some stairs and a ghostlike guy comes up and flies me away. Yes, my brother was playing 2112 (which I wasn't on my tape so I hadn't heard it before) and I was vividly dreaming along with the words. I woke up and was like, what song is this... play it again!
