  1. This is way more frustrating than it should be.

My wife bought my ticket through a link on the BOK Center (in Tulsa) website. When we picked up the ticket at the will-call window, they told us that VIP packages would be shipped out in 2-3 weeks. It's now been 4 weeks. So I called them asking about my VIP package.

BOK Center said they don't handle that and gave me a web link to go to (fanfire.com). I went there and it auto-forwarded me to LiveNation. So I called LiveNation's support line. No, they don't handle that, I need to call Ticketmaster.

Ok, I call Ticketmaster and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, they tell me they need information that I don't have (my wife's credit card #, etc.) so I'll have to wait for her to check on it... it doesn't look promising though, as they can't find her name in their database.

    This is beyond absurd.

  2. The guy sitting next to me nearly killed me trying to get to that stick Geddy threw out... and we were sitting about 10 seats away down the row from it. He had no shot at getting it. He was a bit tipsy though... might have affected his depth perception rofl3.gif

When they threw out the T-shirts at the end, I had one hit my hand and as I was grabbing it another guy hit my arm and knocked it away. The security guy picked it up and threw it out over my head angry.gif

  3. In the configuration the arena was set up last night, I think capacity is ~14,000.

I looked around at intermission and it looked like it was pretty well sold out. There were a few empty seats here and there, but it was generally full.

  4. Looks like as long as it is a point-and-shoot camera, you're welcome to bring it in. But of course, the band frowns on flash photography, so please respect that smile.gif

I just wish Neil's drum set didn't totally obscure him... it's hard to get any shots of his face biggrin.gif by the time he got to the drum solo where I could actually see him, my battery had died doh.gif

I was in the second row exactly in front of Geddy and it was awesome. Neil broke his snare at the beginning of the last song of the first set, so that sucked. I counted two busted snares on the night but the guy next to me said he saw three. Ged had a bass issue early on and there were a few minor flubs that were probably only noticible to people who are freaks like me.

I am forever ruined as I can't imagine seeing them anywhere but up close from now on.

My wife and I were seat 7 and 8 in the front row - right in front of Geddy... sounds like we were in your neck of the woods smile.gif

Just got home from Tulsa and browsed through the camera - got a ton of great shots. I'll try to get some posted later tonight.

  6. My first time front row - and the guys didn't disappoint. After seeing them in K.C. in July, I thought I'd seen a good show, but last night in Tulsa, they put on one of the best shows I've seen.

A few technical hitches - Neil broke a drum head at one point looked like, and Geddy had some equipment issues for a bit, but they were playing great. Maybe it was a factor of having a couple days off between shows, but they seemed relaxed and really seemed to be having fun last night. It was a great show, and the crowd had a good time.

I got a ton of pics - I'll post some in a few days when I get them sorted out smile.gif

On Thursday, one of Canada's finest exports, Rush, arrived at Consol Energy Center with a virtual time machine, which would have come in handy Friday night.

It would have allowed those with Nickelback tickets to go back in time to the night before or forward to the "The Wall" show next week.

  8. The Rush tour page lists the Tulsa show on the 21st as starting at 8:00. The website for the venue lists it at 8:00 also.

However, I purchased front row tickets through a broker that list the show at 7:30. Hoping they are legit tickets... so I looked around on ebay and see other tickets listed for both 7:30 and 8:00 for the same show... why is this confusing?

Anyone know what time the show actually starts?

  9. Just had one last week... my wife and I arrived at the show nice and early to check out our seats, but we'd had a long drive there, so we were tired. We fell asleep in our front row seats, waiting for the show to start and next thing we knew the ushers were waking us up after the show was over. schla03.gif

Wasted those front row seats! doh.gif

  10. First album I ever bought with my own money was 2112 on 8-track.

I was blown away... so much so that I drove straight back to the store and bought the Rush/Fly by Night "collectors set" (2 8-tracks in one package) and Caress of Steel on Vinyl... they didn't have it on 8-track rofl3.gif

and does anyone originally remember a water bottle being mentioned??

I got the water bottle/T-shirt from my Kansas City tickets. That was just a special order though - not the VIP

My VIP package from the Tulsa show hasn't shown up, but it sounds like it won't until after the show.

They should film Columbus because it's an indoor show and they haven't filmed in America in awhile and because I'm going to be there biggrin.gif

I vote for Tulsa. Indoors, and I will be there tongue.gif

Plus, seriously... when have you ever heard of a DVD "Live from Tulsa!!"

  13. I messed around with my flash during intermission at the KC show. It actually made pictures of the stage worse by being darker - the flash only goes a short distance and everything beyond is actually darker than before.

And that was from the 9th row.

Plus, don't want to piss the guys off smile.gif

  14. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Aug 16 2010, 03:21 PM)
I was nowhere near front row, but I had a couple of completely stoned young 20-something guys who kept trying to take the empty seats around me when people would get up. They got away with it for about 10 mins before the people would come back and they'd move on to the next empty seats.

That happens at any event I've ever been to (sporting, concert, etc.)

Some venues won't even let you into a section without showing your ticket. Others seem to be more lax about that.

  15. After taking ~150 pics at the Kansas City show and only having about 10-12 that actually came out worth a damn...

I'm looking for suggestions for a cheapie camera that I can use at the Tulsa show next month. I had an Olympus FE330 point and shoot camera that takes decent pictures usually, but just not having luck at Rush shows with it.

Anyone got a camera they'd recommend for under $200 or so, that I won't get in trouble taking to a show? (ie. it's not a "professional" camera?) smile.gif
