Dude, thanks!
Switch my name out with your's and that'd pretty much be my list as well. RocinateKid, GAAC, and theworkingman, without a doubt
No problem man.
Yeah, it would be awesome to meet all you guys.
I guess it's too bad one lives in a black hole, one lives on the other side of the atlantic, I live in california, and the other lives in illinois.
Yea Im thinking of relocating though.
oh and Aerozach2112, GO IOWA HAWKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude (and this goes for everyone). AeroZach2112 is a handful. Just call me Zach and be done with it
Iowa Hawkeyes, eh? Not bad, not bad at all, good sir. Don't pay much attention to the college sports circuit (aside from NCAA Basketball here and there). If you made a nod to the Chicago Cubs I'd have to personally fly to your location and shake your hand
Im from Iowa so im a die-hard Hawkeyes fan. You will kill me for this Zach but GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...I think I'm gonna have to take you off my list.

We celebrate when the gang's all here
(Ah-ah) Ah, hot summer nights, that's my time of the year-ow!
We made it through the cold
And that freezin' snow is gettin' old, hey!

Say Boys, That might just call for a toast
Now whaddya say?

Wow! Them girls are bitin' good tonight
Ow! Uh-Oh! Whoa yeah!
Summer nights and my radio,

Here Again. Without question, awesome song!

RIP Mr. John Rutsey.
He really has had a serious impact in the early development of this band, and I often feel doesn't get recognition he deserves from the casual fan. His work on the first album was great, and who knows, maybe if it weren't for him, the Rush we know may not have existed today.
Very sad day. Best wishes to John's family, and the members of Rush.
As far as the band dedicating a song to him from the first half, I think it would be inevitable, actually. I always figured Rush to be a band who would try to preserve a guy like Rutsey's memory at a time like this. I'd say not to get your hopes up, but with a tour break coming up, it COULD happen.
Though the set isn't the big deal here in the end. Just pointing that out. Once again, RIP John Rutsey.

QUOTE (TheRocinanteKid @ Mar 7 2008, 10:22 AM) I think Sammy Hagar might be, Pleasure Dome from the Van Halen LP F.U.C.K. is supposed to be a tribute to Xanadu. Sammy Hagar does like Rush. I remember there being a dispute between him and Van Halen manager Ray Danniels (which isn't surprising, as that was the time things started going downhill for the band). I believe Hagar was quoted asking him "Why wasn't Rush selling more records. They could've been more popular than they were".
I think that, in itself, says it all. And yes, Sam had control over Pleasure Dome being a tribute to Xanadu.

How do you know Sebastian Bach's name, but not Cliff Burton's?
Probably because Skid Row > Metallica.
Amen to that! I really liked Skid Row's cover of "What You're Doing". They're one of the few bands that get lumped into that '80s genre of music I actually enjoy, Seb's a great voice!
Mike Piazza is also a Rush fan. Kim Thayil too, huh? I love Soundgarden, would've been cool to see them cover a Rush song or two. Cornell could've handled it.

I'm more familiar with baseball figures than anything.
In 2004, Chip Caray, Cubs television broadcaster (now with the Atlanta Braves) played "Fly By Night" on fan cam one game that season and spoke about how excited he was to see them in concert. So this was around R30. He also stated pitcher Matt Clement would be there as well.
Last year at the Tinley Park show my buddy and I saw Jim Thome (White Sox DH) walking around the concourse! Even as a Cubs fan I thought that was pretty cool.

QUOTE (floydfanatic111 @ Feb 3 2008, 10:29 PM) Tonight's loss was a MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE! I still say Eli Manning is a redneck like his loser hick brother! Shame that we ended up like the 1940 Chicago Bears. Was close. FOX is based in New York and they are as biased to New York teams.
FOX kisses any teams' asses that are not either Boston or New England. When the Sox were down 3 to 0 in 2004, I did commentary as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura.
FOX can kiss my ass! Them right lovers are as bad as CNN the left lovers. That is all I will say.
Pats gave it their all but it was too much!Oh please, I HATE Boston area sports because of the ass-smooching the teams get.
For the entire season it was "Patriots" this and "undefeated" that, and finally your team screws up and all the sudden FOX is to blame for not
giving them support? What planet are you on?
The Red Sox are now Americas baseball team (which I could not be more unhappy about) and the same goes for the Pats and football. So to say FOX is biased towards New York is ridiculous.
Just suck it up and realize your team sucked seriously today, and there's no way around it. I don't care what anyone says, an 18-1 record with the one loss being in the Super Bowl is a failure. That's all this season is for the Pats: A failure.
Congrats to the Giants, to Eli Manning, and to Tom Coughlin.

QUOTE (Turn Me On Dead Man @ Jan 18 2008, 02:15 PM) The early episodes of Spongebob have surprisingly good humor. The new episodes are crap. Agreed. All of the old ones feature comedic gold, stuff that sticks with you. I started watching when I was seven years old, and now I'm sixteen, still watch it as often as I can. Just the humorous nonsense that comes out of this show is outstanding.
My favorite is the one when they have to paint Mr. Krabs' house. Everything they try to do in order to NOT get paint on ANYTHING, and then trying to get the paint off the dollar
Or if not that, the one where he draws the "Evil Doodle" with a magic pencil, features one of my favorite quotes:
Spongebob: "This is for your own good!"
*erases Evil Doodle*
Spongebob (holding pencil in victory): "AHH, I AM SPONGEBOB, DESTROYER OF EVIL!!!!"
Patrick: "Take it easy, it's just a drawing..."
Oh, I can discuss this all day!

I went with Discovery. What a magnificent, catchy part of the song, not to mention a wonderful "mellow-out" moment.

As a sophomore in high school, I can easily tell you what the two most overrated movies are of this generation:
Napolean Dynamite
High School Musical 1&2
Yes, these were mentioned. However, from the perspective of someone who is surrounded by people who treat these movies like the freakin' Godfather, I can tell you that these movies are just friggin' TERRIBLE.
I got one small chuckle in an hour of Dynamite. That sums that up. As for HSM1&2, I can pretty much say that everything is fake. High school life is nothing like that, and it's a shame how Disney channel shoves that false sense of reality down some kid's throats. Plus, it isn't a true musical. When they do the music numbers, usually it sounds like they're actually singing in the moment. In these movies, you're surrounded by over-processed instruments and synthesized vocals. There's no true spirit of a musical in the movies.
I don't understand why chicks like Zac Effron either. To me, he looks like a raging bisexual woman.
I'm the minority. In a school of about 3000 people, chances are 1/20 of them does NOT like either movie. It really is a shame.
Just my two cents.

Genesis - Wind & Wuthering. I love the album, but jeez, how much more boring of a cover could you possibly get? Especially put up against "A Trick of the Tail," which is one of their best covers.
