It's 5 albums after Hemispheres. I would hope it's significantly different.

I think what I was trying to say is that it is hard to believe that a band that could do Hemispheres was capable of Territories. :)

2 excellent songs that happen to be very different.

I'm really not feeling well today thus I haven't been able to make it through too much of the album yet.

But I am disappointed that Floor seems to be on a very short leash. Maybe a little deeper on the album she'll show some more range/power but thus far she could be just about any well trained singer :(

Allan and Howard both have the full rehearsal list and are preparing production for all the songs that *might* make the tour.

The setlist itself wont be finalized until the last week (if not the last day) before the tour starts.

 

Allan is dealing with all the video crap... Howard is taking care of the full light and stage production (actually, by this time Howard has already designed the full lighting rig and all the major parts of the staging).

I don't get this thread at all.

I've met MP many times and he's never been anything but cool... at least to me.

Hemispheres is perfection

AFTK is the band growing towards that goal.

Hemispheres is the greatest of moments ;)

Available Light on it's own is better than all of RTB thus Presto wins.

 

ETA: RTB has YBYL... the single worst song in the long and storied history of this band.

I think TAK is pretty amazing from a lyric perspective.

Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres

The section starting at 1:57 and going through to the vocal is perhaps the greatest piece of music this band has ever written.

 

It's sex for the ears.

Questions like this are so freaking presumptuous it's silly.

 

Not everybody agrees that the all the albums from 2112-MP inclusive are their best.

I happen to be one of those. So NO, I wouldn't trade PoW for example which I consider a top 3 album for another 2112 which is an album I appreciate for it's spot in the history of RUSH, but I certainly do NOT love (or even like on some days).

Riverfront... I know for sure I was there for the PoW show... pretty sure I was there for Presto as well.

Hemispheres.

Period.

Can you provide details as to who is on the committee? What percentage of donations are going directly towards funding a show for someone in need? How is need determined?

I've said this at least a hundred times thus far..

 

If they didn't play Losing It when they had the chance with a string section at their beck and call they certainly won't play it now.

It´s been Remixed... not Remastered... it´s a huge different..

 

There is also a remaster and an HD remaster.

 

And lets not forget there are at least 2 Richard Chycki remixes that are separate from VT:R

Earthshine (for sure) and I believe OLV.

The Remixed version is a huge different!

 

I got a headache when I listened to the first version, I could not listen to the whole album at once, had to listen to two-three songs and then take a break.

 

But now when I got the Remixed version... a great album! One of their best albums ever! I love it!! :) Everything sound so clean and perfect!

 

I had the exact same problem with the original release.

I loved the songs but I couldn't listen to it for long and certainly not at high volumes due to the aural fatigue the poor production caused.

It´s been Remixed... not Remastered... it´s a huge different..

Mixing and Mastering are 2 very different processes.

In mixing they take all the recorded tracks and pick and choose the best bits and pieces and place them (volume wise) in the right place sound wise.

In mastering they take those mixed down tracks and make sure the levels for all the songs are the same and index all the tracks so they sound like they belong together

 

 

THIS IS NOT A TECHNICAL EXPLANATION!!!

This is just so the lay-person can have a basic understanding of the difference between the two processes!

Oh... and I'm one of the few people who thinks We Hold On is an absolutely fantastic song!
