Superconductor as a highlight?
What is this Superconductor you speak of?
Never heard of it.... or more likely I have a significant mental block which shields me from any unfortunate memories.

War Paint is a top 10 Rush song for me (blasphemy, I know). It's got some really clever guitar work
I'm a big fan of War Paint.
It's got some really clever DRUM work!
Maybe not top 10 for me... but certainly in the top 1/3.

If they bring back 'Xanadu' for R40, do we get the double neck back in service?
There was an interview at some point in the 80's where Geddy said he would never bring back the double Ricky.
It's simply too heavy and uncomfortable.

At the very end of Xanadu, when Alex is playing those "from heaven" passages on his 12 string, Geddy actually uses a guitar pick ( ! ) and plays the descending line on his "guitar" neck .... it is a magical ending to a classic song
I've been seing these guys live since Moving Pictures and don't recall seeing it. Some where this got asked, if they play A Passage to Bangkok and Xanadu will the double neck rick come out?
They both used them last on the Moving Pictures tour. I'm glad I got to see it. It was so iconic at the time.
Alex used a doubleneck on the CP tour.
ETA:
And on R30

The double neck Ricky has been retired... as in permanently.
If you saw the MP tour you saw the double Ricky. Ged used it on Xanadu that tour for sure (See the ESL video for proofz).
ETA: 11:48 of this video you can see Ged's left hand on the 12 string neck and you can see him strum a chord right before hitting a key on the keyboard.
ETA2: 8MM boot from Chicago on the MP tour.. go to 9:40ish

What is the purpose of this thread when there is already another thread with an active discussion?
If you want to know if this setlist is real, read the responses in the other thread.

What a bloody trainwreck that band has become.

They're going to play "Jacobs Ladder", but Huey Lewis' version.
I met a fan dancer
Down in south side of Birmingham....
I actually really like Huey/Hornsby's JL :D

The bigger question is do I look at the setlist to see the REAL opening song on opening night or not..ive seen rush on 4 tours now, usually multiple times a tour since r30. but ive known the set each time. Wondering how the experience would differ without knowing

I can tell you from the opening nights I've been to that it is indeed fun to be standing there going "WOAH! They're playing THAT?!?!?"
But at the same time it's kinda nice to know when the first set is going to end so you can get a beat on the rest of the crowd to the restroom :P

There are a whole lot of very memorable shows for various reasons.
The first one that comes to mind is Scranton on the VT tour. 2nd night of the tour.
I was watching the setlist as it was posted online from Hartford opening night and I just couldn't *hear* it in my head so I got into my car around 3AM and drove 8+ hours to Scranton so I could see the show.
I was quite surprised that I was among those who had a tear in their eye during Tom Sawyer. It hit me hard that it wasn't all that long before that night that none of us had any idea if we'd ever see RUSH again.

It'll be a medley.
They already opened with Finding My Way on R30 so possibly the main riff of Working Man to start it out... then again, FBN as the first of the medley would pretty much light the house on fire.

The real travesty of that little *event* is that Mitch Mitchell is losing badly to AVH.
M.M. isn't a household name. The average person has no idea he was Jimi's drummer.

Virtuality - Dog Years - YBYL are the 3 that would piss me off teh most.
Followed fairly closely by Stick it Out.

Hemispheres
I've always loved side 2 but it took decades for me to *get* side 1.
Now it's a rock solid top tier album with no apologies.

I think Cold Fire is one of the bands classics.
I would take it over anything from Hems. I really love it.
Now I think you've been hitting the pipe a little hard so early on a Friday morning.
Cold Fire is a good song.. but it doesn't touch Hemispheres.
-
Considering Virtuality is one of the 4 worst songs this band has ever written/recorded Cold Fire wins by default.
-
High Water is a highly underrated song.

Who TF is voting for Taco Torres?
BJ fans.
And there are a lot of BJ fans.
Most of them are female with big hair.
(take my comment any way you want to....)

I stopped counting at 100.
That was on S&A.
So somewhere around 130 now.

That list is incorrect and all you have to do is look at #1 to know it.
Tom Sawyer has NOT been played 100% .... it should be 99.805% :P
(Quebec City 2013 was cut short due to weather).
