I heard that this season will be the last full season and next year they are going to to a 6 ep wrap up followed by a movie. Anybody else hear this?

Who are the authors of this netflix "throttling" article?  Are they pro-blockbuster maybe?  Or in blockbuster's pocket?

I would have to know that before I was to fully believe that this is a standard practice for a company like NetFlix.  I gotta think it's more about Tick's area than anything.

Marc's been a customer of Netflix for quite awhile now, and has never experienced this so-called throttling.  If any of their customers was a loss of income to them, it would be Marc.

Also, Carol wasn't kidding about that roller derby movie.  We requested it, moved it to first on our queue and got it the next day.  Again... we haven't been customers long, so we haven't been "throttled" yet.  I will keep you posted if that ever happens to us though.  The way I'm getting dvds, i'm sure i'll fall into that supposed throttled category soon.  biggrin.gif

I hope you keep getting all the movies you can Necro! trink39.gif

Its good to know someone is receiving good service.

As far as the authorship of the articles I posted, just a little bit of research yields voluminous results and they all can't be on Blockbuster's payroll. If they are, maybe thats why BB is going bust laugh.gif

    edit: cause I can't spell

Mmm....a cold Ruination, rain & a line up of classic Syfy channel movies. What more could a man want?

Now for an encore: Memphis dry rub ribs & Stone's Smoked Porter! Yum!

    1022.gif That sounds great!

Now, if Rushlady23 would give us her review of Arrogant Bastard yes.gif

Well I hate to say it, but I don't like it...a little too strong and bitter for me wacko.gif

But I managed to drink half the bottle, and I can see how it can kick your ass laugh.gif

Any recommendations for something smoother, less stout?

    Ah...another candidate proven unworthy! trink39.gif

At least you took the challenge. Yes, on the first go around it is VERY bitter.

What kind of beers/ales are you used to drinking? We might can make recommendations if we know what you prefer because there are so many options out there.

    trink38.gif

Dammit, I'm not worthy fists crying.gif

I guess I'm a wuss when it comes to beer. I usually drink stuff like Bass Ale, Blue Moon, Corona, and I love the Sam Adams Chocolate Bock. LESS BITTER! No lites either. If I'm gonna drink a beer, I want a beer.

If you enjoyed the chocolate bock then I'll recommend trying a porter or stout. They're dark, very tasty and not bitter at all. Rather they're on the sweeter end of the flavor spectrum but they're real brews and some are pretty damn strong.

    Look for:

    Samuel Smith

    Stone Brewery

    Rogue

    Bell's

    Sierra Nevada

    Old Rasputin (liquid awesome)

Brooklyn Brewery (that chocolate stout will knock you out)

That's a pretty good list to investigate. trink39.gif

    Cool...thanks trink39.gif

If you can get Southern Tier products in your area, try and find the Choklat, Mokah or Javah. They are all great dessert beers and I think you'd like them trink39.gif

Dude, ribs & a dark brew are an awesome combination! trink38.gif I almost went with Three Floyds barleywine but remained loyal to Stone. That Smoked Porter is fantastic. But I love porters to begin with.

I'm pleased to report that local liquor/beer stores in the Louisville/Central KY area now have some Three Floyds available. Next up is the Dreadnaught IPA.

    trink39.gif

Three Floyds doesn't distribute in my area, but I did acquire a Dreadnaught through a trade. I'll be interested to see what you think in comparison to Ruination. trink39.gif

Damn Dog, you have access to some great brews!

    trink39.gif

A year ago, this place was almost a barren wasteland for craft beer, save for Stone Brewing.

Now, this place is just exploding with great craft beer. We don't have everything here yet, but our selection is 10,000% better than it was a year ago.

I just had a Southern Tier Mokah Stout and was blown away at how good it was. I absolutely freaking LOVE the Southern Tier Blackwater Series. So far I've had the Choklat, Creme Brulee and the Mokah and loved every one. Can't wait to try the Oat and the Jahva.

And I was dumbfounded to find Dieu Du Ciel Peche Mortel. I couldn't believe it was on the shelf. I'll be drinking that tomorrow night.

  6. QUOTE (Cowtothesky @ Jun 12 2010, 05:59 PM)
    Ok laugh.gif

Obviously, you have done your research on this.

I'm glad I still use Blockbuster. I know all the employees and can ask them if a movie is good or not. I can pick up the box and read all the info about it. I can walk down the isles and see a movie I wouldn't have thought of if I did a Netflix search. I don't have late fees. I can keep a movie a whole year if I want. I can request movies if they don't have it in stock. There is a good looking lady that works at my Blockbuster. I support a local business in my area.

These are all the reasons I don't use Netflix.

Like I said, if Netflix put every movie they have online and I could just log in and watch any movie instantly, I would probably subscribe. But, I would still keep my Blockbuster membership.

laugh.gif Sorry, but I have a major issue with Netflix. The way the people in these articles were treated was exactly how my friends and I were treated.

Hey, its their business, and their business model. They have the right to do this if they want, and I have the right to truthfully tell everyone how $hitty they treated me and my friends.

Southern Tier Mokah Imperial Stout trink38.gif

Combining three of the things I love most, coffee, chocolate and beer.

This one just showed up on the shelf today, and man, am I glad it did. This is one tasty brew!

    Good books, aren't they?

Just got this months email newsletter and it looks like CBS films is getting nervous about the $$$$ to make the movie of "Consent to Kill." So it looks like the movie is on hold for the time being. angry.gif

You know, I'm of two minds about the movie. Flynn has a lot of input, which is good. Very good.

But I am worried Hollywood is going to try to make it politically correct, which would really mess things up big time.

I hear ya. Make these novels PC and you've just instantly killed the appeal. That is why people LIKE them, because they AREN'T pc.

Edit: Oh yeah, the new Rapp novel hits shelves October 12

This a joke? Don't get hopes high!!

Kenneth, at this point I would take EVERYTHING about a proposed set list as tongue in cheek.

Every tour we go through this and 99.9% of them are complete and total bull$hit.

Personally, I get tired of wading through the cesspool of these threads and just feel compelled to add snarky comments wink.gif

I had to have my wisdom teeth surgically removed and I had a hamburger the next day and experienced no problems other than some very mild soreness. Eat whatever you want unless the dentist recommends otherwise.

Damn! Your a tough hombre laugh.gif

It was soup, scrambled eggs and ice cream for about 4 days when I had mine out. And then came the dreaded "dry socket." That REALLY hurt scared.gif

6 months of age has this drinking really fine right now. The hot, booziness is gone replaced with rich sweet malt and a crisp hop bite that has diminished just a tad since November.

This beer is REALLY aging nicely.
