I f***ing HATE THE COWBOYS!!!!

After several spins, I am really digging this record, blows YotBR away... however, The album feels incomplete, and for album oriented rock I am left at a musical standstill and it as a whole dosen't stand by itself... It feels like the first half a double album, and not the first part of a two album suite.... I think once part tow is out that you would need to listen them back to back to hear it proper...

 

Listening to this without the follow up I feel is like trying to listen to the first LP of "The Wall" and having to wait a few months to finish the album... I would have waited and released the album as a whole.... then again, marketing wise Brilliant move by the band.

Just finished reading, and I have to say I really enjoyed the book, and I too was strongly reminded of the feel and pacing of the film "big fish" while reading

 

 

Is it without flaws? No. But they don't ruin the book.

 

My biggest issue is with the pace of the novel, it felt rushed. It seemed we were being shuttled along from one event to another without any time for it to sink in. And no surprise that the novel is only 290 pages long. I think if the novel was 100 pages longer the story would have flowed a lot better, and helped with further character development which was also slightly lacking.

 

And I agree that the writing level was not at all difficult, I say I finished the book in an 8 hour time frame if not less, does that make it bad, no. Not at all. It was a fun read, and I was not expecting Tolkien or Gaiman

To the Dexter fans, I just had a Deb-esk profanity laced freakout.

I still knew where the gif for my avatar was, but when I tried to reupload it (tried twice, both by url and by an actual downloading it to my computer) but now the gif is too large of a file size..... so no I am back to my original avatar I have not used in 4 years.

Board is running considerably slower for me, too. It could also be dis shitty Owensboro internet service, though.

I have to say that after several listens, the track "Madness" has grown on me slightly....SLIGHTLY..

 

I hated the song when I first heard it, now I can say that I "don't particularly care for" the track... (difference between a "2" and a "4.5")... though the last 3rd of the song is very good, and keeps the track from being an outright skip.

I am reading that " The Red Wedding" has been shot for the TV show....

 

The show only viewers that lost their shit when Ned died are gonna have a collective aneurysm when this scene hits...

I was reading some set reports for the filming of season 3 last week, apparently a certain notable scene has been shot, the book readers reading this thread know what scene from A Storm of Swords I'm talking about....... Yes "THAT" scene. Probably the most notable moment from the entirety of A Song of Ice and Fire. It seems that the production crew spent several days on the sequence and it will be done good justice.

 

I really cannot wait for the reactions the show viewers only have to the moment in question

 

 

 

Edit to add: I for obvious reasons teased something that book readers will get but would leave tv viewers nonethewiser, since this is about the show ill keep it that way outside spoiler tags. I however have started a asoiaf thread in turn the page where I could discuss this as well and go into full spoiler mode....

My prediction is that Dexter is discovered by everyone at the end of the season... and will be "on the run" during the final season...
