I got tickets for the Rochester Jazz Fest show. I never in a million years thought Crimson would come here. I'm very excited
Wait...Rochester NY?
Yeah, almost nobody ever comes there. I always expect Crimson to be in NYC, Toronto, Philadelphia
Only 90 minutes from me. I should make the trip.

A couple things: it's wonderful to see Geddy out and about pursuing his passions. I don't know, but to me it's curious he's shopping with his bass tech. Does Scully live there and they were just hanging out? Who knows... But it seems interesting regardless. I don't think there's any doubt Geddy and Alex want to play. At least they did last fall. The demand would be HUGE overseas, and they could play probably a dozen or more dates in the US/Canada too. Neil is the wild card. But after reading his book and seeing TSS, I would be shocked if he ever plays live again. I'd love to be wrong. There's also no hints on Twitter either. So I'd say Geddy will play at the induction ceremony or will just make a solo record.
I hope for more solo material, especially from Alex. Would be cool if he and Rik Emmett did a whole release.

RnB...can't be!I like them. They're mostly a "greatest hits" band for me. I'll take them any day over Queen, or early Genesis, or Porkpie Hat though.
I know. Sorry, man. Those bands do nothing for me.
Not even their Prog stuff? Queen was more Prog-like than Prog at times.

That was an awesome read. Re: Moving Pictures "Skip track 5. You're not ready" Hilarious
I think it's a good guide. I heard a bunch of Rush songs for the first time through Chronicles. I went Moving Pictures, Exit Stage Left, Signals, then Chronicles.
Funny how the instructions were to get Caress of Steel last. Very true. If you get that first or early in the process, you could be screwed. It will leave you saying WTF if you listen before you're ready haha
I bought CoS early on and loved it. At that time however, Rush was only up to MP. This being said, I was given AFTK and Hemi on vinyl as my first Rush releases. I heard other material on the radio (i.e. Spirit, TS, FBN, etc...). I bought Archives as my first though.

Not exactly how I would do it. Nice that someone made the attempt.

I think it is about Star Wars. Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

You should join up with The Dividing Line Broadcast Network. http://www.thedividingline.com/I archive them for review, yeah. I wish we were allowed to stream them.
I'm friends with some of the Dividing Line folks... same with House Of Prog.
The problem is: my show is not prog-exclusive and I refused to market it that way. That said, maybe they'd consider.
Underdog Prog is not Prog exclusive either. Mary plays tunes people request among scheduled and non-scheduled Prog.

I'd like to pay special attention to my favorite George Harrison as a Beatle song.
He loved this somewhat rousing Dylanesque piece. He played the bass track on the song, unusual and he first hammered out its beginnings on the piano, also unusual.
I didn't discover this awesome tune until it had been out for six years or so, first heard it off hey jude (the compilation of previously released non album and b side singles).
Love this song.
It sucks. He has much better material.

Depends on where the bathroom is and how well the bathroom is kept.

Eagles Live '79 is pure gold. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Frey and Henley as people, but as artists they could sure craft and execute melodies and harmonies.
The Joe Walsh years are great.
Joe Walsh...he cracks me up. Too bad he and Alex didn't write lyrics together.

It's hard not to think he and John are not geniuses. They both did amazing things.
They worked better as collaborators than solo artists, IMO.

Waiting for ILSnowdog to chime in.

My favorite Beatle, still, without Lennon, he didn't have the magic. I like Ram the best. Later material wasn't so good.

Highly talented band with incredible harmonies and guitar leads and a knack for writing good songs. I don't care for them however. They could have been called a Country Light band, but so could many other Southern Rock bands.

Hi, I'm Floyd, but I don't mind if you call me Faure. I've been a Rush fan since about June of last year, but they've become my favourite band. I've got a majority of their stuff on vinyl and a few of bootleg CDs. Albeit, two of them are turkeys.
I enjoy films and video games a lot. When it comes to both of those things, I tend to stick to the classic stuff, but I do enjoy some modern day material. Don't have any laserdiscs for movies, but there are some VHS tapes down in the basement (probably taped over though, I don't think we even have a VHS player anymore) and I own a few Gameboy, NES, and Sega Genesis games.
In my spare time, I write and I do a lot of art. Pretty sure the sides of my notes for practically all of my classes have more drawings than in my sketchbooks.
Some bands and musicians I like outside of Rush include The Beatles, Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Journey, Van Halen, Yes, Mötley Crüe, and The Bay City Rollers. unfortunately

this is what I can do in like, under a minute. I do serious stuff, I swear.
Welcome. You may find yourself liking a band called Porcupine Tree of you like harder Prog Rock.

Infers Sherwood is better at playing the parts. Ged could readily and effectively play the parts.Well if Yes is performing then who'll play Squire's part?? Ged's the perfect choice and he'll be there anyway.. maybe he'll decide to do it now that this rumour got our hopes up..
Billy Sherwood. He's been playing bass for them for a couple of years now, and was in the band a while back. It's not like they don't have a bass player. While it would have been cool to see Geddy play with Yes, Billy is more than capable of playing all of Chris's parts.
Bite your tongue! Ged is better.
Where in my response did I even hint that Billy is better than Geddy? I was merely pointing that Yes does have a bassist, in response to the question of who will play bass for them at the ceremony.
