  2. Life on Mars was intriguing and all kick ass up until closer to the end when it all seemed in a hurry to wrap up and it got really lame. Really bummed me out because I was really into it. I hate when the brits rush the end of a 8-10 episode tv series.

  4. I'm so freaking handsome, I had some fairly hot girl less than half my age hitting on me this past Satuirday night. I. Kid. You. Not. :7up:

"My name is Brooke", she said. I'm at this bar with a bunch of friends, and we had just finished a great dinner at the local upper-scale prime rib restaurant. It was a surprise 50th Birthday Party for a buddy of mine. His wife paid for all 13 of us..... :o So after dinner, we're enjoying some tasty beers at a not-so-upper-scale tavern, and we're watching the Wisconsin Badgers earn a great comeback win in the NCAA Tournament.....

...and this girl, all of 24 years, keeps coming on to me, talkin' and a flirtin', and I'm thinking to myself, "Honey, what on Earth are you doing hitting on ME.....??" My group started moving to another part of the bar, and I took advantage of the opportunity.

Well, it looks like I'm getting left behind, Brooke, so I gotta go. You're alright, but you're 24 years old. Bye bye.....

She took it well. Not much to worry about Brooke, who probably hooked up with some other guy shortly afterwards. I rejoined my group of friends and endured the laughs and taunts for being such a principled man.....

    To hell with principles! :bitchslap:

There should be a special place in Hell for principles.......Dante should'a created a 10th Circle for 'em...... :rage: ;)

    yeah principles suck!

  5. What, in your opinion, are the saddest songs ever written? 'Tears' immediately springs to my mind as possibly the saddest song EVER, but what are some others that always bring a tear to your eyes????

When I first saw the thread title Tears came to mind first also :(

  6. Did I seriously hear that River Song is coming back next season??? If so I guess only Moffett would be able to pull that out of his ass and make it work. I thought is was amazing enough how he tied up Matt Smiths' reign!

There are rumours (like there always are) but nothing official. This is what Steven Moffat had to say. “It’s always down to whether there’s a good story. My immediate instinct was that story’s probably done. Not that we saw all of it, but I never thought we should see all of it. I’m slightly tempted, because I imagine Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston would be absolutely hilarious together…”

The other rumour floating around is of the return of the Master.

Ooooooooooo the Master! I adore John Simm. He was greatin the roll!!!

  8. I have been referred to as Lady of the Lake recently and apparently it was a reference to me some while back while I was off the board. Totally not opposed to that as I am a HUGE Python fan, Mikey being the sexy bitch that he is, I used to post in the Python thread alot here on TRF a few years back for those who dont know me. Anyway I was looking at my member title, Subdivisions Girl, and I love it but any variation of Lady of the Lake is a nice option too... of all that Mikeys Constitutional Peasant managed to spit out 'moistened bint' has never failed to make me f***ing laugh till I cry. But dont you think thata member title like that might just give people the wrong idea about me? I mean look at the name from a non python fan perspective. Skanky STD ridden slut comes to mind lol

    Moistened Bint

  12. I adore Troughton! Love the Chaplin type hobo in space with his hippie recorder. Always seemingly aloof though more on the ball than an unsuspecting being might think and ready to kick some ass when necessary. #2 -I love him!!!

Exactly. I've loved Troughton's Doctor ever since I saw The Mind Robber as a child.

It wasn't until I started collecting the DVDs that I realised so few of his stories still existed. That was upsetting. So I read the Target novelisations and listened to the existing soundtracks. I was so overjoyed when the news came out last year about the rediscovered episodes.

I heard Steven Moffett talking about that at one time, the lost episodes but remember very little. what that about ?

Yeah I remember Terry Gilliam was talking about that at one point some years ago regarding Monty Python episodes that were found post American syndication and were very nearly destroyed. Terry Jones mentioned also that the first season or some shit someone had in a closet lol and gave a crap so it was saved from the Beeb also. So I believe there are missing Doctor who episodes. But just knowing how many exist already I cant believe there are so frikkin many

Ok ok I gotcha now! I am at Barnes and Noble and I have the Doctor Who magazine winter 2013/14 special edition #36 titled The Missing Episodes with Patrick Troughton on the cover! Now for some details!

Yeah, for various reasons, there was a stupid policy in the BBC during the 60's and 70's to junk TV shows once they'd been shown (storage space, cost of film, and -believe it or not- the actors union (they were afraid that if you could repeat shows, they'd lose work, because there'd be no need to make new ones)...and also once colour TV became the norm, no one thought anyone would want to watch an episode of Black and white telly again)

Luckily, the episode were distributed around the world to be broadcast in other countries, again, with instructions to destroy them, or send them back to BBC to be destroyed.

It's just pure luck that any 60's Doctor Who survives at all. Lost episodes have been found all over the place. In the 90's, Tomb of the Cybermen was found in Hong Kong. These most recent episodes were discovered in Africa.

People are still out searching for more.

I posted a list in the Doctor Who thread of all 97 episodes still missing.

Was this animal executed and dismembered right in the giraffe exhibit, where anyone who passed by could see it, or in a confined area where only those who were interested could watch? When I go to a zoo I expect to see animals on display in artificial environments, not slaughtered before my eyes. If I wanted to see something like that I'd take a tour of an abattoir.

In was in front of an audience. There was a little Danish boy taking a picture as well. I just skimmed through the video.

I realize it wasn't an endangered species, but that's just messed up, especially when other zoos were willing to take it off their hands.

It's my understanding that 20-30 other animals, mostly goats and pigs, meet the same fate at that zoo each year. Of course, nobody cares about goats and pigs.

When humans play god it is generally for profit and boy can they put on a show no matter what the expense. It is so self serving

Well it wasn't really "for profit" considering that they got offers to buy the giraffe from other zoos and turned them down.

There was an audience who payed to get in and watch this. Its sick the things that people to see for entertainment.
