  1. Bill Bruford by a mile (although respect to Alan White for recreating the parts Bill had written before leaving for KC)- and he knows when not to play too.

I also really love Christian Vander of Magma, and Virgil Moorefield - epic players both.

    Blackmail.

(Alex, dude? Seriously!? WTF man. W... T... F...)

Janie, you are truly gifted at this rofl3.gif rofl3.gif (the best I could do was "Hi, Girls!")

This reminds me of my friend Graham's reaction (at school 25 years ago) when he first saw the group photo on the sleeve of 2112: "Hmm, one lump or two?"

    Those trousers are really...hairy!

  4. Went to see the second night at Victoria Park, they seemed very cheerful - no more first night nerves - and changed the setlist to include a few more of their popular favourites:

    'Reckoner'

    '15 Step'

    'There There'

    'All I Need'

    'Lucky'

    'Nude'

    'Weird Fishes/Arpeggi'

    'Myxomatosis'

    'National Anthem'

    'Faust Arp'

    'No Surprises'

    'Jigsaw Falling Into Place'

    'Optimistic'

    'Videotape'

    'Everything In Its Right Place'

    'Idioteque'

    'Bodysnatchers'

    - - -

    'House of Cards'

    'The Bends'

    'Bangers and Mash'

    'My Iron Lung'

    'Karma Police'

    - - -

    'Go Slowly'

    '2+2=5'

    'Paranoid Android'

As Larry David would say: "Pretty, prettyyy, prettyyyyyy, GOOD!" Perfect sound, stunning lighting effects (and it was only just nighttime).

We saw the Tinselworm tour last year which was brilliant, apart from being so far up in the gods.

We are all human slaves of the insect nation....

    ah aaaaaaaah ah ah ahhh!

Sorry if this sounds like a brag, but I was lucky enough to go on that tour with him and I felt guilty about invoicing, it was so much fun. I honestly couldn't wait to get up and go to work each day, which is rare let me tell ya!

Nicest Man In Showbiz - and yes, we even talked about Rush.

Really? Thats awesome!! What did he have to say about Rush? tongue.gif

Not that keen on them, to be honest!

    Dodgeball 062802puke_prv.gif

I really expected Dodgeball to be a great movie. I saw it for the first time just this year and I knew all the hype. While it wasn't awful, it's nothing I want to buy and watch more than once..

Hmm, tricky - on the one hand you have the Best Ever Sports Legend Cameo with Lance Armstrong's appearance (I thought it was funny anyway), but on the other hand the Punchline to the Whole Movie is "I'm bisexual!!" - lame-o-rama.

What was the name of the "venue" where Rush had their first paying gig?

I don't know but I do know they went to Panzers right afterwords to spend their $10 fee.

    Here's a quickie:

What's the personal connection between Rush and Frankie Goes To Hollywood?

No guesses 12 hours later: the answer is Andy Richards, keyboard player/synth programmer.

  10. Galaxy Quest - especially the way Tony Shalhoub says "Wow, that was a hell of a thing!" and also "By Grabthar's hammer.... what a savings!" rofl3.gif

I saw Anchorman on a plane and maybe it was the lack of oxygen but I laughed myself stupid(er).

Evil Dead 2 - not technically a comedy, but...

  11. Signals - for so long it seemed so wierd: "WHY have they got a dog sniffing a fire-hydrant??!!"* but I have come to love the picture for itself and also love the blueprint for Lerxtwood Mall on the back. If only Syme had the idea of using bits of sticky tape like he did on A Show Of Hands, it would be perfect.

    * now I have a dog, years later, I realise the dog on the cover is just checking its Wee-Mail.
