  1. I see leaves of green

    Red roses too

    I see them bloom

    For me and you

And I say to myself, what a wonderful world

    I see skies of blue

    And clouds of white

    Bright sunny days

    And dark sacred nights

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow are so pretty in the sky

and also on the faces of people walking by

I see friends shaking hands, saying "How do you do?"

What they're really saying is "I love you."

I see babies cry, I watch them grow

They'll learn much more than I'll ever know

And I say to myself, what a wonderful world

And I say to myself, what a wonderful world...

(The late great Joey Ramone's version, FYI...)

Does anyone else see my imaginary friend?

Why is your imaginary friend running around with your underwear on his head yelling in Swahili?

  3. I perm for curl, so color is out for the moment. I think that I've dyed my hair just about every color in existence over the years, though - albeit not always on purpose. I guess that's why they always warn you to do a strand test...

  4. Personality is just as important as looks when it comes to what makes a guy sexy. I'd have to get to know him first, but I wouldn't rule him out on his looks alone.

(I used to feel the same as Marathonist about online dating, but three of the happiest couples I know met that way - and one has been together since 1998. Had I not given up the whole dating thing long ago, I might have been tempted...)

  5. "Whoa-oh-oh, woke up today, feeling the way I always do

Whoa-oh-oh, hungery for something that I can't eat, when I hear that beat

They rhythm of town starts calling me down,

It's like a message from high above

Whoa-oh-oh, pulling me out to the styles and the streets that I love,

    Good morning, Baltimore!

Every day's like an open door

    Every night is a fantasy

    It sounds like a symphony

    Good morning Baltimore!

And someday soon when I take to the floor

The world is going to wake up and see

    Baltimore and me

Whoa-oh-oh, look at my hair, no 'do can compare with mine today!

Whoa-oh-oh, I've got my hairspray and radio, I'm ready to go

The rats on the street all dance 'round my feet, they seem to say "Tracy, it's up to you..."

So-oh-oh, don't hold me back 'cause today all my dreams will come true!

    Good morning Baltimore!

There's the flasher who lives next door

There's the drunk on his barroom stool

They wish me luck on my way to school

    Good morning Baltimore!

Someday soon when I take to the floor

The world is going to wake up and see

    Baltimore and me

I know every step, I know every song

    I know there's a place where I belong

I see all those party lights shining ahead

So someone invite me before I drop dead!

Whoa-oh-oh, just give me a chance

'Cause when I start to dance I'm a movie star

Whoa-oh-oh, something inside of me makes me move

    When I hear that groove

    My mom tells me no

But my feet tell me "GO!"

It's like a drummer inside my heart

Whoa-oh-oh, don't make me wait one more moment for my life to start!

    Good morning, Baltimore!

Every day's like an open door

    Every night is a fantasy

    It sounds like a symphony

    Good morning Baltimore!

And someday soon when I take to the floor

The world is going to wake up and see

    Baltimore and me..."

    Sometimes I don't care.

But usually... I think about what I have said. Was it so wrong? O.o

The worst thing is when you start a thread and it has "0" replies. It already happened to me in another forum. Quite strange.

That's happened to me a few times on other forums. I need to remember that sometimes my idea of funny isn't the same as everyone else's.

    *Looks around*

    I just killed the thread, didn't I?

which will make you attractive to the locals,

Hey! I went to high school with that guy!

Well, hey, it was the 80's...

  8. Hi guys...I know, I haven't been on in ages. (Long story I shan't inflict on anyone...) However, I come bearing pictures:

I know, all three - but still a cute pic biggrin.gif

(I apologize for the quality onthis one - the original wasn't all that great.)

(ETA: Forgive any typos - I have my left wrist wrapped up thanks to a nasty case of tendonitis and I never realized how much I use my left hand until now...)

  9. Dear Global Administration/Contract Management:

I must say out of all the mass layoffs I've seen, this one has been the most poorly handled. Why were we told that 95% of us would NOT be affected by the new "support structure matrix" only to find out that all but about ten of us are losing their jobs? That's more like 90% of the secretaries being affected. And why were the managers told that there would be "no changes?" Furthermore, why has it apparently been made the responsibility of the individual secretaries to tell the managers they supported that they're being laid off? On a humiliation scale, that's somewhere up there with having to type your own termination letter. Do you really believe that we're interchangeable? Did you think the managers wouldn't notice or care if their secretaries were switched around? That as long as there's a warm, smiling pair of tits sitting perkily behind a secretarial desk, it doesn't matter who they're attached to? Believe me, they're going to notice. And care. And then you tell the few of us remaining that this is only the beginning of the "new and exciting changes?" I've heard the rumors. I'm not going to wait around to see if my head rolls at the end of next quarter....

And on a related note: those little handouts you were going around putting out for the managers? The notion that you truly believe that our jobs can be reduced to five little bulleted "how-to" lists is somehow the most sickening part of all...

This has all been happening since Monday, BTW - I had an interview today and I have one Wednesday. I hate walking out but we've been told these cuts are only the beginning... ohmy.gif
