What image size would be needed to create a poster of the Clockwork Angels album cover?I'm looking for a 26X36 (inches) poster that's CA related. Heck, just any colorful Rush poster will do if CA is hard to find. I would print one myself but it's impossible to find a large enough image. Ideally I would be looking for posters resembling. I'm not saying I want these exact posters (actually...I would take the bottom one in an instant if I could find it in the right size) but just ideas I'm throwing out there.
These images are rather large, so I'll just put the url instead of the image:

the left one:

Does anyone might know where I might find one? eBay has nice posters but in the wrong size.
Can't you just have whatever image you want blown up into that exact size?
I could but the problem is that I would need a massive image file to be able to keep the quality. If I could find one then I would go get it printed but unfortunately no such image exists of any Rush poster.

What are the dimensions & does anyone know if a printer can blow it up larger?
-
Can someone explain HD Tracks? Also, do you download the music & then burn it on CD? I'm so confused!
-
Don't know, but I like it better than the original and the 2004 remaster. Not getting the box at current prices.
So, it sounds a lot better & is worth buying?

I've still not heard the VT Remix yet, so I can't comment.
You know the albums, you know songs by now, so does the VT Remix change your opinion? Does VT now beat out Clockwork Angels? Does it close the gap, does it open up a bigger gap?
Have at it... :hail:
Not to be rude, but how does a Rush fan, who posts on a Rush forum, not have Vapor Trails Remixed yet? It blows my mind!
One who hasn't got around to it yet!
I guess there are really different levels of Rush fans. Personally, since 1984, I had to have every new album the moment it came out!

Vapor Trails. After that long wait during Neil's tragedies, I was out of my mind that I was about to hear One Little Victory. I think someone leaked a MP3 & I remember in coming through the computer speakers. I was floored & not in a good way! My disappointment was so extreme that I didn't know what to say. I honestly didn't like the album for years. It wasn't until I got a new car with a stock radio that all the sudden it sounded waaaayyyyy better! It was definitely not meant to be heard on high end equipment. I fell in love with the album over the past year & am now loving the Remixed version as well!

No to be rude, but it's "peaking."

I like the lead in the new Remix but I think I still like the Retrospective III version better. :codger:
I think I agree! I will have to listen to both again!

I love Vapor Trails Remixed, but Clockwork Angels is a masterpiece & after listening to RUSH since 1981, may be my favorite album.

I'm glad they included ALL the songs from the tour!

How does this compare to the new remaster from the Atlantic Years box set?

QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jul 3 2006, 05:18 PM) Here's the whole problem with the kid in general. First off... I hate the fact that they have the gall to mess with comic continuity THAT much. There is NO child of Kal's ANYWHERE. So adding this to the movie mythos is just plain wrong. But since they have...
He made love to Lois in the fortress AFTER he got rid of his power. HOW did he get rid of his powers? He had his Kryptonian DNA erased. So... the child of powerless Clark and Lois should be human... PERIOD. Not some hybrid Kryptonian/Human, but just plain old HUMAN. So this child having powers... LUCICROUS.
Yeah... i take my comic characters Waaaaaaaay too seriously.
Yeah, you do, but that's OK. I do as well. I just have always preferred the Superman mythology on TV & in the movies as oppossed to the comics, so it doesn't bother me. If they screw up Captain America continuity in the forthcoming movie, I will probably be pissed!

Let me address some problems people are having with the movie...
Spoilers below!!!!
1. The kid having asthma: I believe he never had asthma. Lois obviously
developed that as a cover. She told the kid to pretend & never let
anyone know about his powers.
2. The kid's invulnerability to Kryptonite: This symbolizes that Superman
is not all powerful, but the combination of human & Kryptonian is
much stronger than their separate parts. The same could be said
for Lois & Ka-El.
3. The whole kid thing: This is a natural extension of events in Superman
II. I know as a kid, I always wondered about what happenned at the
Fortress of Solitude between Lois & Clark. He used that ridiculous
"amnesia kiss" to wipe away Lois' memory. What about if she got
pregnant? Well, guess what? She did! Now Supes realizes what he did
was very wrong. He tampered with her mind & now he's paying the
consequences.
4. Superman leaving for 5 years to go to Krypton: He went searching for
evidence of survivors. He didn't find any. He returns to the world that
has embraced him as one of their own. He loves them, but still feels
alone in the universe. With the revelation of the kid, Supes realizes
he is no longer alone. There is someone just like him & created by
the combined love of humanity for him & he for humanity.
5. Lex's Real Estate plan: You can't build anything on the crystals! No?
Seems to me there was a whole civilization built on a crystal planet.
It was called Krypton!
6. Supes would kill Lois while having sex: What? Why? His every action
isn't constantly "super". He seems to have quite a bit of control
over his bodily functions!
Anything else? Personally, I think I LOVE the movie because it pays homage to the 70s movies. It doesn't try to be radically different. If you grew up with those movies, you feel you got an old friend back after a loooonnnnggg time. If the old movies never touched you, I don't know how you'll feel. Bryan Singer ROCKS!

QUOTE (kazzman @ Jul 3 2006, 11:03 AM) Ok, don't get me wrong about SR here. From an entertaining factor, I liked the movie, but from a Superman mythology POV, it was just plain ok. The plane scene was just amazing and the fight scene on the roof was awesome. Brandon Routh was excellent in his portrayal of the character, flawlessly matching Christopher Reeve as both Clark Kent and Superman. His posture, presentation, even the way he talked was spot on.
Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen it and don't want to be spoiled. Highlight text to read.
If the kid was really Superman's, then why did he have asthma? Why couldn't he open the door in the boat when they were trapped, but could throw a piano to save his mother?
If the island Luthor was building was really made out of Kryptonite, why did Supes get the living shit beaten out of him while he was fighting Lex on it, but then why could he lift it and send it out into space?
And uh I think Kevin Smith wrote it best regarding Superman getting Lois pregnant:
"It's impossible, Lois could never have Superman's baby. Do you think her fallopian tubes could handle the sperm? I guarantee you he blows a load like a shotgun right through her back. What about her womb? Do you think it's strong enough to carry her child? He's an alien, for Christ sake. His Kyrptonian biological makeup is enhanced by earth's yellow sun. If Lois gets a tan the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. That would kill him.I'm gonna start a new thread to address your concerns. It will be spoiler heavy, so be warned!

Did you see the Ghost Rider trailer?
I saw that triler when I saw X-Men a few weeks ago.....thought it looked lame....then again, until I saw the preview I did not know there was a Ghost Rider comic book......
Nope, I haven't seen the Ghost Rider trailer yet.
Ghost Rider in the comics was cool. Not sure how this one's going to work on screen. The whole thing sounds like 'The Wraith' with Charlie Sheen. But I will see it regardless.
Did you ever read the final (about 10-15) issues of the original series? I believe it ended around #81. This is the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider I'm speaking about. They are some of the best comics ever produced!
Al
I did. I'm a huge Ghost Rider nut. BUT... i prefer the Danny Ketch/Noble Kale (Spirit of Vengeance) version to the Johnny Blaze/Zarathos version.
Blaze being possessed by a demon and controlling it's power seems too far fetched, but an actual Spirit of Vengeance sharing time with a human host to impose vengeance on deserving individuals is a much better concept. I'm bummin' about this.
NOW... onto SUPERMAN. I'm hearing things I definitely DO NOT like. I totally understand that movies take a different route with their tales than the comics, but this one particular difference I'm talking about is just WRONG. Not liking what i'm hearing and because of it, I may not go see it.
Just like FF. When I heard how they turned Doom into some ordinary bad guy instead of the megalomaniacal, yet somewhat honorable and noble crazed whacko that he IS... then I just couldn't bother to see it.
I know the difference that you are speaking about. I won't spoil it for anyone. I must disagree with you here. Unlike the FF, Superman comics have never been that great. I think most of his popularity comes from TV & movies. The Doctor Doom thing in FF was stupid. There was no reason to change things. He should have worn the armor, not bonded with it! The Superman thing is a natural progression of the movies and I have no problem with it. I think it was handled very well.

QUOTE (doubled_mystic @ Jul 1 2006, 11:35 PM) Al, I'm going to do something I have not done much of before, and agree with you....I just saw Superman Returns tonight, and it was pretty freakin' sweet. I thought it was well plotted, well scripted, the effects were fantastic, and Routh was fantastic as Superman. also, a classy touch during the credits, to have the film dedicated to the late, great Christopher Reeve
if they decide to make any more Superman films, hopefully they will live up to what this one achieved.Thank God someone agrees! I'm so pissed about the box office totals! I'n seeing it again Tuesday after work. If they don't make a sequel, I'll be pissed!
