  1. >Sorry Leccy, but i don't understand your question...What do you mean with spillover?

Assume you have a 3 sec delay and then you change to a patch that doesnt have delay. The delay from the first patch naturally dies out -rather than being cutoff as soon as you change patches

I think some people call it trailing too?

Me too - do you know how to get the delay/reverb to spillover when changing patches on the GT3? The manual makes a reference to this i.e. that it can be done.. but doesnt tell you how???? The GT3 forums in the Gtcentral community are deserted these days....

  3. >If you read some of my first posts in this thread you'll find I was furious at people with "rush painted" bass drum heads, just as an example

I remember going in to a hairdressers when I was about 14, with a picture of alex with really bad hair from Kerrang -all back combed and stuff, probably from Gup/PW- my hair was about 2 inches long but i still told them ' i wanted it like that'

....not suprisingly both I, and they, were dissapointed with the results

  5. Music is so personal , what really matters is that you enjoy it.

I am not in a Rush covers band ( not as such, but i do practice with friends every now and then) but , over the last 20 odd years of playing guitar, I have always played along to Alex, trying to get songs note perfect. Perhaps I am too much of a perfectionist or maybe its just a reflection of my skills that I am still trying to do this even now. I hope for the former, but fear it is the latter angry.gif

What I can tell you is that I enjoy playing 2.gif more than when I was in an original band - writing music, performing and developing what I guess I might call a style and that it grates a little to be poked at (ok, only gently biggrin.gif ) by those whose ego's let them presume to have developed their own style.

What seems like eons ago I am pretty sure that I owned a Boss DS stompbox that had level/tone/dist dials, each with 2 controls, a further dial for chooosing channel 1 or 2 and a remote pin to connect a second fs to do the same. It was therefore pretty much like a 2 channel pedal.

I cant remember what it was -I have trawled around a little looking in the usual places and still I am none the wiser. I can see a turbo DS now which also has two channels but I am pretty sure that is not the one - this one defo had independant level -tone - drive controls.

    Anyone????????

  7. >know the original didn't have them but it helps keep it in tune. It stays in tune great even without a locking nut.

I wasnt suggesting that it has less value because of that, I have one red and one white charvel to do. One will have a floyd and one a graphtec nut and locking tuners, just wondered how you are getting along with tuning which you have answered.

  8. Thanks for that gents - we will certainly check out the D50 a little more and keep and eye on the prohecy

I would think that you can shamelessly plug all you want in here, its a Rush forum after all. I visit Ontario every other year or so so perhaps one day ill make it at a time when you guys have a gig :-)

  9. Hi All

    smile.gif

Just saying hello. Been into rush for 25years and have been playing guitar for about the same time.

Have gone through alot of gear in that time but all that has been slimmed down over the years. I am currently left with a 100W ss marshall 2x12 combo, boss Gt5, Cry baby, Mxr dist +. I own an old charvel model one ( the wife made me sell the 335 sad.gif but I have just bought a couple of Charvel Cx291 to turn into Hentors - I have even found an old Bill Lawrence blade for the bridge of one.

I used to have a few recordings of Rush songs laying around, just home stuff on the Pc but cant find them at the moment ( which is a real shame coz I had a killer short version of the Fountain of Lamneth ) Perhaps I will get round to doing something again soon. In the meantime I have uploaded some stuff from and old band in the space kindly provided for RF members.

Still play once a month at the moment with two friends - we have limelight/red bar/ 2112 / passage / Jacobs ladder down pat ----drums excluded - and are now looking for a cheap synth which will fo a job for those and The Camera eye which is next on our list.

Anyways I guess that is it for now!
