Glad someone did this^^^for me although I disagree with the last one lol...Grace is just waaay betterDistant Early Warning > The Big Money
Afterimage > Grand Designs
Red Sector A > Manhattan Project
The Enemy Within > Marathon
The Body Electric > Territories
Kid Gloves > Middletown Dreams
Red Lenses > Emotion Detector
Between the Wheels < Mystic Rhythms
8 to 1 in favor of GUP. Though I absolutely love The Big Money and Territories, I love Distant Early Warning and The Body Electric even more. Grace Under Pressure is just an all around excellent album.
Sorry...had it been another song, GUP may have had a landslide...but I happen to have a thing for Mystic Rhythms (I love the lyrical 'visual' imagery) and think Between the Wheels is *gasp* just ok.
Oh, and now that I look at it my math is wrong...it's actually 7 to 1 so thanks but no thanks for quoting that for all posterity. :poke:

Webster's defines "Get a grip" as 1. Wanting to start a fight on the internet 2. Being rude beyond forgiveness. 3. One who says such evil nastiness should instantly be burned as a witch.
"Webster's"..* *snort*
Ok, well, if this is happening, someone else better bring the marshmallows, because apparently I am going to be occupied.

With maybe the exception of baseball (though it has it's similarities too, just more steps), they're all variations of the same game anyhow. Just how do you want to watch a group of people get some sort of device into a zone-like territory to accumulate points in a particular time-frame, against another group that (ostensibly) are supposed to be protecting that territory? Would you like it on ice, w/ feet, an odd shaped ball, w/ a stick, w/ hands, in a net, between posts? See? All the same game.

Admittedly TFE and RTB fall fairly far down the list and are not the best albums in their discography by a long shot. But each one happened at a particularly point in my life to make them both ring nostalgic for me. Yeah, there are some stinkers on each, but there are also quite a few songs that I absolutely love. So yeah, not perfect, but also (to me, at least) worth not completely dismissing.

I just got done reading 'A Cook's Tour', which is a very personable account of Bourdain's travels around the world...so this really shocked me and makes me so sad. I really liked Anthony Bourdain. I liked his attitude, his non-celebrity realism. He seemed very down to earth. A guy you could comfortably sit down, have a drink and tell stories with w/out any pretentiousness. RIP

Come on y'all seriously, attacking Neil's looks. Basically the comments you guys are making about his "nose being bad" and other shit is basically meaning your calling him ugly. Your not supporting Rush or being a true, good, fan if you call him ugly. Plus, there are more to people than looks, like there personality and who they are as a person. It's what's on the inside that counts, not what's on the outside to know that someone is an amazing person or happy.
Jesus H. Christ, Get a grip.
No one here called him ugly, or even implied it. Sickly and unhealthy, yes. And yes, even in black and white his nose is a heck of a lot darker than it was just a few years ago. It's a form of rosacea called rhinophyma, and while it's not caused from drinking, drinking can certainly exacerbate the condition. So the drinking in retirement thing has been implied. Looking ugly though? No, sorry, you're wrong. And our opinions on how he looks have absolutely nothing to do with any degree of fandom. And for Christ's sake it's you're not your, and their not there.
Attacking someone for trying to do their part for peace on this board? Real classy.
Where exactly in that post was she attacking anyone?
when u say get a grip ur pretty much attacking the other party so
I seriously don't know what kind of world you live in where telling someone to 'get a grip' is an attack. Because in my world it's usually used as a response to things getting too hysterical.
But whatever, think what you will. No skin off my nose.

I've seen more wildlife in Massachusetts than I ever did in the mountains of Utah. Last week we had a fox going through my neighbor's garbage, and something had tried to tear into mine. I saw a fishercat crossing the road by the reservoir, and at night you can hear them wailing. Bears, mountain lions, owls, coyotes, and moose have all been spotted within a mile. And in my back yard virtually every day we get rabbits, deer, snakes and turkeys. The little marshy area at the end of my cul-de-sac is filled with snapping turtles. It's awesome. I keep catching the snakes and putting them by my garden to scare off the chipmunks.
I love this place. Only 30 miles from Boston too...
Fishercat?
I guess it's actually two words. Fisher cat. Nasty buggers... their cries sound like demons from hell.
Same family as a badger, wolverine, weasel, martin or ferret. Looks kind of like a small wolverine.

Drinking excessively is somewhat unlikely to be the cause of a darkened or bright red nose. To take the leap to that really isn't fair to Neil. It could have to do with severe allergies, major anxiety, and many other things. There is a skin condition called Rosacea that is the most likely culprit. It almost always causes that kind of nose discoloration
I have lived around alcoholics a lot in my life, and what alcoholism actually causes is severely broken capillaries all over your face, not just the nose. Typically, if you see a middle-aged or older man with red spots all over his face (mainly cheeks) that look like broken rashes, then that might be an indication of an alcohol issue. A bright red nose, however, is not typical for chronic alcohol abuse.
Yes, I mentioned that. It's a form of rosacea called rhinophyma that effects the nose. Makes it swollen looking and darker (the nose), and is NOT caused by alcohol. However, that being said, alcohol can exacerbate the condition in people prone to having it.

Cool. It's a very special thing to see that in person. I saw a momma black bear and two cubs in the wild when I was a kid. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. I still get excited when I see deer in the wild as well. And that's way more common than bears.

SOCN is really not different in concept than the board at large. Everyone who posts there is interested in news and politics. So we post our thoughts and respond to others. Is it somehow more productive to debate whether Rush should have done a European leg of R40? What your favorite song off each album is? How much Wolfmother you’ve been listening to lately? No one in there pretends to know everything. Because the regulars are so different, I find I learn quite a bit from them. If it doesn’t interest you, that’s fine.
From what I've read there are quite a few that (at least) post like they do.

Cool. Very interesting. I love how he describes the cymbals in literary terms... As expressions in a sentence where the drums are the nouns and the verbs and the cymbals the connective tissue (the adjectives) that describe them.

I tried listening to Good News First & Bravest Face recently. Nope, still can't get through them and still refuse to believe this is the same band that recorded songs like 2112, YYZ , Limelight, etc etc etc
So, so bad

Maybe it's me but he looks not in the best of health. I hope I'm wrong.
No, I agree. Not just his weight loss, or his nose, but the way he's carrying himself. He looks sickly.

Song By Song Battle: Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures?
in Rush
Posted
Permanent Waves wins by virtue of having Natural Science alone. What? Ok, fine, if you don't want my completely unbiased opinion. Fine, I'll go the long way around. :eyeroll:
The Spirit of Radio
Freewill
Jacob's Ladder
Limelight
The Camera Eye
Natural Science
Special mention, though does go to Vital Signs, because it's in my top 6. But since Natural Science is #1well... So fine. What have we learned here? Told ya so...could've just bi-passed this futility completely and gone with my opening sentence.
