QUOTE (D-13 @ Jan 16 2005, 08:40 PM) QUOTE (ChefEllwood @ Jan 16 2005, 06:10 PM) This is kind of embarrassing, but awhile back, I had about 150 individually wrapped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in my freezer, (gift from a friend !!!).
I'm sorry.... forgive my male weakness, but Reese's Peanut Butter Cups ALMOST beat sex !!heh you would of liked the day at COP where they were giving out free packs of 2 to random people...at the end of the day I had 8 packs!!! mmmmmmmmm
I think I"m in love !!!!!!

I'll check out Motley Crue, ( just for laughs. Was never a big fan, but a buddy of mine won 2 tix, and asked me to go with him).
I can't wait for U2 to make up their minds, and release the itinerary. According to a friend of mine in the concert promo. biz, the "family illness" thing was somewhat blown out of proportion, and, believe it or not, the band and North American promoters are waiting to see if the NHL season is cancelled before North American dates are finalised and booked.

Pink Floyd - "The Wall"
Neil Young - "Greatest Hits".

Hockey is my favourite sport, (wish Bettman,Goodenow, and others would stop conspiring to destroy the game).
However, I'd have to say that in the interim, chasing my children around the house is fast becoming a new found "sportin' love" !!

I'd definitely have to say Tommy Lee. In fact, I always thought Motley Crue were hugely overrated. Also, although I've liked Van Halen for many years, I think Alex Van Halen is overrated as well. He's been playing the same tired, boring drum solo since about 1980.
I do think drummers like Phil Rudd, (AC/DC), Charley Watts, (Stones), and Larry Mullen, (U2), don't get enough credit. They're very good "stay at home" drummers.
Likewise, Chester Thompson, (Weather Report, Genesis, and Phil Collins), is an excellent drummer.
My favourite drummer however, remains Neil Peart. His drumming, and solos, ("O Baterista" for example), never cease to amaze me.

My latest purchases included the following :
The Who - "Who's Next"
U2 - "All That You Can't Leave Behind"
Gentle Giant - "Three Friends"
All pretty good. I'm looking forward to the U2 release next month.

It Was '76
I Was Merely Eleven
Aerosmith at the Forum
And I was in Heaven
Came for the 'Smith
But That Would Soon Change
The Opening Chords Hit Me
I Suddenly Felt Strange
"Bastille Day" Cranking
Through P.A. and Amps
Right Then and There I Thought
"Here Are My Champs !"
Excited I Was
Every Chord, Every Song
I Knew All of a Sudden
I'd Be a Fan Very Long
35 Minutes Later
It Was Finished, Done
"In The Mood" Over
This Was Just Way Too Much Fun
From That Day Forward
A Fan I Would Be
Every Album, Every Tour
I Simply Had To See
28 Years Have Passed
RUSH Still Are My Band
Neil, Alex , and Geddy
Tour The Land
I Bring My Young Son
And He Sees The Light
This Greatest of Bands
The Sound And The Light
I Think Back Through The Years
The Memories So Fond
My Passion For RUSH
So Strong Is This Bond
Now As I Listen
I Might Shed A Tear
"Time Stand Still" Plays
To Me It Is Dear.

I'd have to pick "Moving Pictures" because I think it is the most complete, all around album RUSH ever did. My only pet peeve with this album/era, is that a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon. RUSH were the "flavour of the month" album, and tour wise.
I like a lot of the older stuff as well, (FBN, COS, 2112, FTK, PW). I also love the first live album, "All the World's A Stage", (the energy, and raw power on that disc is incredible).
I also love RTB, and I think "Presto" is pretty under-rated. Damn, this is a tough question for an older fan !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thank you all for your kind words of welcome. I'll be back later on for more RUSH, and assorted fun !!
-
Thanks for the welcome. How do you like your Pop-Tarts, toasted, or straight out of the box ?

A very cool website to find. I've been a RUSH fan since '76, (first concert my sister ever took me to ; RUSH opening for Aerosmith at the Montreal Forum).
I looked around, read some of the threads, and liked what I saw, so here's to discussing the best damn group around. Cheers !!!!!
Did Rush have groupies?

Been a while, but I'll throw 2 cents in the pot. First of all, Hit Parader was the biggest bullshit fabrication in the world. Just my opinion.
BTW, the "Hookers" t-shirts are available in New Orleans. Got one when I was down in New Orleans in the spring ; "Hookers Bait Shop". If you google the afore-mentioned, you might find a mail order website.
