The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, almost done with the 10th book. I have enjoyed it quite a bit, took me years to finally get around to reading it.

I love that series! I read up to the tenth book for the second time a while ago, thinking it was the last book, and man, I was so pissed to find out it wasn't. Now I'll have to start all over at the beginning when the eleventh book comes out on paperback! fists crying.gif

  2. I really, really, really loved the movie Crash. Granted, every time I watch it I can't stop bawling for a couple hours, but in the end it seems worth it.

Dark, weird films... well, none exactly spring to mind that I've watched, but there are probably a couple. I don't know, um... the Virgin Suicides was rather dark, but it, to me, seemed more like dark comedy than anything. It could just be my sense of humor, though.

The Hours! That has to be the WEIRDEST movie I have ever seen. I still don't quite understand it.

  3. Okay, now I HAVE seen the movie, haha.

I loved it. So much. It actually had a plotline *gasp* which was easy to follow, even if you haven't read the books. Unlike the Harry Potter movies, which, even after reading the books... heh. They're a bit DISJOINTED.

But, anyway. I was choked up the entire movie, for some odd reason. That, likely, has more to do with having a uterus than the movie, but... I digress. smile.gif

So good. See it. EVERYONE. MUST. SEE. THIS. MOVIE. *falls over*

Don't bother. Okay, actually, being objective, DO see it, and form your own opinion. And then you can come here and either praise or laugh at it with us. :-p

The Talisman - Stephen King/Peter Straub

Good book and an interesting mix of fantasy/thriller/horror

laugh.gif I loved that book. Of course, it took me like five tries to get into it, but it was so worth it. Just thought I'd share that, haha.

  7. I enjoyed the movie, but I'm always upset that they leave all the effing GOOD parts out. But I loved the Harry/Moaning Myrtle bathtub scene. Despite the fact that I find him not at all attractive, and he's still the worst actor ever. [/mean]

I bawled my eyes out, though. After Cedric died, and his dad was all, "That's my son!" Yep. Cue waterworks, in a completely non-drooling sort of manner. fists crying.gif

  8. This movie was so overhyped that it's not even funny. I've watched it a few times, and each viewing, I was completely uninterested in what was happening. Call me crazy, but it was the most boring movie I've seen since Open Water. The special effects were cool and all, and I'm not sure exactly WHY I didn't like it, but I really didn't. There was some weird dynamic that was totally MISSING from the film.

Maybe it was a decent cast. Though I do love Dakota Fanning to pieces! smile.gif

  9. I've been mostly into Isaac Asimov lately, on the second book of his Foundation series. And I'm dabbling in Dante's the Divine Comedy.

I need to go check out Anna Karenina. eh.gif

Must... have... change.. from sci-fi realm...
