  1. Across the Universe's snippets are so stupid that it made 1978's Sgt Pepper look like a masterpiece. The saving graces from Sgt Pepper were Alice Cooper's version of because, Earth Wind and Fire's funked up Got to Get You Into My Life and Aerosmith's Come Together. Peter Frampton did the movie due to insistence from manager Dee Anthony. He said the script was like a Monkees episode. Across the Universe is just pathetic and uninspired.

Then again, Tommy trumped either of those. Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie, priceless and Eric Clapton as The Preacher was superb.

I just saw Quadrophenia, great movie.

Who gives a f*ck. Hollywood is sh*t now. I don't watch much TV these days. Plus, I don't go to the movies.

Are any of your posts ever positive? smile.gif

If it wasn't for Hollywood, there would never have been the movie

    "The Wall" smile.gif

ff111 bong hit with your name on it. Would you like a cyberhit? smile.gif

Hollywood went to crap after the late 1990s is what I am saying. Ever since Titanic film grossed billions a decade ago, they are trying to come up with these big budgeted lameass movies.

The writers are doing prequels, sequels, disaster movies, comic book character movies, boring comedies which are rip offs of old 1980s comedies and the 1990s disaster films is all I am saying.

The Wall was supposed to be a concert film until Alan Parker decided to scrap it. Thank God I have a VOIO of Earls Court 1980 and New York 1980.

Last great movie I saw at a theater was Toy Story 2 and that was in 1999.

I didn't like Spider Man, Shrek 2 was boring and half of the films I went to in the early 2000s (I forgot what I saw) were unmemorable. After 2004, I quit going to the movies as no movie impressed me to go see it.

    My posts are honest.

The US movie industry is so bad now that crap like sophomoric lameass comedies (Knocked Up, Wedding Crashers and those lameass romantic comedies which are sleep induced), rehashed disaster movies (Will Smith's newest), superheroes and cartoon characters turned to movies (Fantastic Four, Spider Man, Superman, Captain America) talent then the US must be high.

Supposedly, the European film industry is better than the US movie industry nowadays. Yet they loved Waterworld schla03.gif schla03.gif

In the words of Jethro Tull, I don't mind "living in the past".

  4. Always one of my favorite movies. Over the Edge was to have been released at this time as The Warrior but fear of fights breaking out prevented it.

Ajax was the movie. "I'll shove that bat so far up your a** I'll turn you into a popsicle".

  5. Brain-damage.co.uk and David Gilmour's official blog on his website in late November said that David Gilmour's concert at the Gdansk Shipyard on August 26th, 2006 (the last show of the On an Island tour), is to be released as a live CD at some point this year. The concert was held before a huge crowd of 100,000, and marked the 26th anniversary of Poland's 1980 revolution, where nation-wide strikes led to the eventual fall of communism. August 26th itself was the day in which the Solidarity trade union was founded.

Whilst the concert was notable for the inclusion of "A Great Day For Freedom" as part of the encores, David's blog site also mentions, tantalizingly, that "there will be one or two assorted extras thrown in for good measure..." More news, obviously, as we get it. Also, he was accompanied on some tracks by an orchestra.

The track listing is the full show and my estimate of what songs will appear on each CD.

    Disc 1:

    Speak to Me

    Breathe

    Time

    Breathe Reprise

    Castellorizon

    On An Island

    The Blue

    Red Sky At Night

    This Heaven

    Then I Close My Eyes

    Smile

    Take A Breath

    A Pocketful Of Stones

    Where We Start

    Disc 2:

    Shine On You Crazy Diamond

    Wot's...Uh The Deal

    Astronomy Domine

    Fat Old Sun

    High Hopes

    Echoes

    Disc 3:

    Wish You Were Here

    A Great Day For Freedom

    Comfortably Numb

plus one or two extras at the end of CD 3 (Echoes might be on disc 3, will keep eye peeled). Tentative release is summer/fall release.

Anyone want to make a prediction about how soon we'll see Britney Spears (or as I like to call her: "Train Wreck") on a show like this?

In the words of Mr McMahon, "NO CHANCE IN HELL" of Britney on Celebrity Rehab. There were some celebs who had but no choice to quit drugs. Either that or go broke and lose careers.

  7. Many of those idiots probably relapsed. very few who get sober, STAY SOBER. Look at Motley Crue, they got sober then RELAPSED back into drinking heavy AGAIN! Rumors that Aerosmith went back on drugs too, who knows.

Chyna, I'm glad Triple H dumped her for the more hotter Stephanie McMahon (Hell, I'd dump she-man chick for my boss' hot daughter like Stephanie anytime), fall from grace after leaving WWE/WWF.

Brigitte Nielsen, skank. I am glad Sly Stallone kicked her ass out.

Jeff Conaway, the dude whose biggest role was as Travolta's cronie in Grease, is all screwed up.

I watched about five minutes before I realized, this is all B*LLSH*T!

I'd go to rehab in a secluded area like Abu Dhabi and sober up without outside interferences.

  8. New York teams, always arrogant. As much as it's a cool city to visit, its teams and their fans (save the Mets) are like a pack of rabid dogs. The Jets rat on the Pats for spying and the Giants got a lucky break. if I saw someone win, I'd kick their asses and don't care if I went to jail.

Mets were destined to win 1986 and I admit it. It was McNamara's fault. Wished they kicked the Yankees' asses in 2000.

The Yankees were the 20th Century Baseball team. Since the official start of the 21st Century which was 2001, the Yanks became the 21st Century Choke Artists.

The Jets, I mean Jetsons, haven't won squat since 1970 someodd.

The Giants were lucky that they won. I say the Pats were SCREWED.

    The Knicks no one cares.

The Buffalo Bills, who gives a rat's ass

The Rangers are the laughing stock of hockey

This shouldn't even be a contest.  Led Zeppelin anytime.  They have the greatest guitarist, the greatest vocalist, the second greatest bassist, and had the greatest drummer.  Jason Bonham is really good now as their drummer.

Here is my rankings of whom I'd like to see reunited:

Pink Floyd (Gilmour/Mason/Waters/Wright lineup. I know I saw the PF 1987 lineup in 1994 but this would be the best. Also, Wright, Mason and Waters want to play again. Gilmour is reluctant)

Genesis (Banks/Collins/Gabriel/Hackett/Rutherford lineup. I saw the three man era reunion last year on September 11 and that rocked. The five man lineup would kick ass too but it's a shame Peter Gabriel is so focused on World Music and moving at a snail's pace that it won't happen. Steve Hackett will only play if Peter is there. Also, Peter really is reluctant to go back to singing about Musical Boxes and Supper's Ready at his age)

Supertramp (Davies/Hodgson/Helliwell/Siebenberg/Thomson lineup. They split ala Beatles as Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson's wives hated each other and their writing skills were so different to each other. Dougie Thomson quit after Rick Davies broke his word that no Hodgson songs would be played without Roger. This reunion won't ever happen)

Styx (as long as it's the DeYoung/Shaw/Young tangent with either Glen Burtnik or a fully healthy Chuck Panozzo and Todd Suchermann. Ricky Phillips and Lawrence Gowan can kiss my ass (Mr Bad English bass man and the unknown dude who is to Styx what Ray Wilson was to Genesis. Dennis DeYoung wanted back in Styx as far back as 2000 but JY and Tommy used Dennis' illness against him to throw him out. Recently as last year, Chuck Panozzo wants to play with Dennis and Styx again. However, JY is the one who wants to re-write Styxtory and JY claiming Dennis will sue again (Dennis didn't want to sue Shaw and Young but was forced to after he was excluded from decisions regarding the band name). If Pink Floyd can play with Waters again, why can't Styx's famed personnel)

Led Zeppelin (Jason Bonham is now what he should have been in the 1980s before he almost wound up like his dad but is now appears to be a health nut since cleaning his hide up and the reunion would be cool)

Van Halen (the REAL original line up of Eddie, Alex, David and Michael. No disrespect to Cartman, I mean Wolfie, but we want the real thing not Sham Halen. Van Halen (Eddie, Alex, Dave and Mike), Van Hagar (Eddie, Alex, Mike and Sam), Shit Halen (Eddie, Alex, Mike and Gary), SHAM HALEN (Eddie, Alex, Dave and Wolfie)

I saw the reunited Iron Maiden in 2000, reunited Judas Priest in 2005, original KISS reunion in 1996, 1998 and 2000, the Dio-era Black Sabbath last year, I have seen all of The Who's reunion tours save 2000 and 2004 as I lacked funds.

Triumph is reuniting. I'd like to see the original Queensryche lineup reunite again but Chris DeGarmo loves the family life.

  10. Robocop ruled. Both sequels sucked! Some movies that trumped the originals IMHO were Beverly Hills Cop II (better than first IMHO), Another 48 Hours, Terminator 2, Aliens, Child's Play 2 (this trumped the first one), Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool.
  11. Only two movie DVDs I have are Bad Boys (the 1983 Sean penn film) and Over the Edge. These two movies I can still watch for pleasure.

Then I have the following music DVDs:

Genesis - The Genesis Songbook, Live at Wembley Stadium and The Way We Walk plus the DVDs that came with the re-issues of the albums from 1976-1998

Pink Floyd - Pompeii, Pulse (though I don't watch it), Dark Side of the Moon Making of, The Wall Live Earls Court VOIO, Behind the Wall Documentary and The Wall Live New York VOIO

David Gilmour - Remember That Night and Live and In Session (DVD that came with On an Island re-issue)

    Rush - R30

    Cartoon collections:

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection box set and A Pink Christmas (which also had Olympinks and Pink at First Sight specials)

    The Tijuana Toads Collection

    Ant and the Aardvark

    Misterjaw

    A Chipmunk Christmas

    Sports:

Red Sox 2004 Season DVD Faith Rewarded

Red Sox 2007 World Series DVD

Rest of movies I still have on VHS (VCR still works)

    First Blood

    Goodfellas

    Falling Down

    Scarface

    Phantom of the Paradise

The Bugs Bunny and Road Runner Movie

Bad News Bears in Breaking Training

    Child's Play 2 and 3

rest are concert videos, Christmas Specials that are not on DVD and Wrestlemania III and Summerslam 1989.

Tonight's loss was a MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE! I still say Eli Manning is a redneck like his loser hick brother! Shame that we ended up like the 1940 Chicago Bears. Was close. FOX is based in New York and they are as biased to New York teams.

FOX kisses any teams' asses that are not either Boston or New England. When the Sox were down 3 to 0 in 2004, I did commentary as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura.

FOX can kiss my ass! Them right lovers are as bad as CNN the left lovers. That is all I will say.

Pats gave it their all but it was too much!

Oh please, I HATE Boston area sports because of the ass-smooching the teams get.

For the entire season it was "Patriots" this and "undefeated" that, and finally your team screws up and all the sudden FOX is to blame for not

giving them support? What planet are you on?

The Red Sox are now Americas baseball team (which I could not be more unhappy about) and the same goes for the Pats and football. So to say FOX is biased towards New York is ridiculous.

Just suck it up and realize your team sucked seriously today, and there's no way around it. I don't care what anyone says, an 18-1 record with the one loss being in the Super Bowl is a failure. That's all this season is for the Pats: A failure.

Congrats to the Giants, to Eli Manning, and to Tom Coughlin.

AeroSupply, in the words of DX, "SUCK IT!" The New York Yankees are the 21st Century CHOKE ARTISTS!

Bring on the RED SOX! The Knicks won't even go to the playoffs.

Are you Dave Matthews' boyfriend or what?

LONG LIVE NEW ENGLAND and LONG LIVE BOSTON!

Are you typing from a prison cell?

I'm a NY'er and what you said is ignorance at it's best and you are very wrong. It's just a game, so get over it!

If it makes you happy, I'll modify the post. I apologize for the anti-New York remark. It's just I don't like FOX News and/or its networks at all. That station is so anti-New England it is not a joke. For me, my hatred goes back to the 2003 AL playoffs between Boston and New York when they were gloating THE YANKEES THIS AND YANKEES THAT. Tonight proved my point that the channel is so New York team and/or NFC and/or other teams are not bashed as much as new England teams.

Floyd, I know this is a stretch, but there's a connection between FOX and Eli Manning.

Shepard Smith, the FOX news anchor, and Eli are alums of the University of Mississippi (aka, Ole Miss). I'm also an Ole Miss alum, and was in the university's journalism program a couple of years ahead of Smith.

I didn't know that tupelo, that made me feel better. Appreciate you cheering me up. On another note, I am now trying to find Rush tickets.

Was a see-saw battle and it's a shame that the GIANTS won with that hillbilly Eli. FOX can kiss my ass! Them right lovers are as bad as CNN the left lovers. That is all I will say.

Pats gave it their all but it was too much!

    Over the Edge

    This is Spinal Tap

    Scarface

    The Running Man

Bad Boys (Sean Penn 1983 flick)

    The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie

The Exorcist (I have a soft spot for the sequel as I am infatuated with Linda Blair and Repossessed was hilarious)

Revenge of the Nerds rofl3.gif z7shysterical.gif

    Phantom of the Paradise

    Death Wish II and III

Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool

    Flash Gordon (1980 film)

    Highlander (first one)

Police Academy I, II and IV

Pink Floyd at Pompeii (the 1974 edit)

    TV Shows:

classic Monday Night Raw (especially the 1997 - 2005 era, thank God for youtube for classic episodes. Once The Rock, Austin and Stacy Keibler (lovely mamacita) left, I lost some interest though Y2J and Triple H prevent the show from sucking)

The Pink Panther and Friends Show

    Bugs Bunny and Friends

    Led Zeppelin for me.

Pink Floyd don't ad-lib at all in their gigs (i've seen them twice live) they just play stuff off the album note-for-note confused13.gif

Now don't get me wrong, i LUV Floyd ... but i reckon LZ would be a better gig to catch 1022.gif

I have many Pink Floyd ROIOs and there were some gigs where they improvised a bit and stretch some songs to longer lengths (Pigs Three Different Ones would be as long as 20 minutes on the Animals tour and Shine On Parts 6-9 would be anywhere from 17 to 24 minutes live depending on the mood of the band). David Gilmour would not play the solos as on record live (his solo deliveries were always different). Rick Wright's keyboard solos changed nightly. Since they were the main musicians in PF, they play from their soul and were improvisors. Nick Mason and Roger Waters tended to stick by the rule book though Mason would have his moments to play different fills. I suggest you look for some Floyd ROIOs from 1971-77 as that was prime PF live. Also, Gilmour has been known to f**k up a lyric or two. Waters did before he used the vocal track.

Zep became note-for-note as of the 1979/1980 tour and the shows were unpredictable cos of the drugs and alcohol intake of Page and Bonham. Punk changed everything for everyone.
