Any of you guys catch this cartoon? What a great show. The best part of comics and t.v. blended together. And since the cast revolves, the characters never get stale.

Thanks for the welcome and a big hello for those who have joined since. This place is great.

It was better than I thought it would be, but I didn't set the bar very high. The story was ho-hum, and Dr. Doom wasn't so much a villain as a brat who got his toys taken away. As for the heroes, I ended up liking Mr. Fantastic, (Ioan Grufford) even though his accent went barely hidden. Even though Michael Chiklis was great as the Thing, I thought he looked a little small. At least they didn't make the mistake of making the Thing CGI.
A couple of things:
-The Human Torch was by far the coolest part of the movie. His character and the effects they used to represent his power were awesome.
- Mr. Fantastic's and Invisible woman have creepy powers. I never thought about it reading the comics, I guess because you know they're drawings, but in a real life context, they are really weird.
-I love Jessica Alba. She is a super hottie, but she doesn't screm "super brainy scientist." It's not anything about hot women being unintelligent, because my wife's the hottest, smartest woman I know. I think she did well in the movie.
-If there is a sequel, I hope they spend a little more time on the plot. This was the movie's weakest aspect.

Rest easy Mr. Scott, we've got the ship from here.

Thank the sci-fi gods for this show. After Farscape and Firefly got unfairly axed, I thought there was no hope for an honest to goodness sci-fi show. Everything else is mediocre at best. Galactica rules!! Only thing missing is playing the show's theme.

QUOTE (NeilPeartFan2112 @ Jul 22 2005, 02:01 PM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Jul 22 2005, 01:47 PM) That's one of the reasons why I really enjoy Batman Begins. The only CGI in the whole film is the fly by shot of Gotham City when he's comming home and when the bats are flying around him in Arkham Asylum. Everything else is real stuntmen, real everything (including the car chase). Batman Begins was phenominal. So much action in that movie. I loved it.
I was soo happy with the movie. Christian Bale is really intense. They did everything right, and the origin/background stuff wasn't as boring as I'd read.

So many movies already mentioned, I don't know what to choose. The most recent Godzilla with Matthew Broderick. What a pile that was. Jurassic Park in New York.
Eraser had the worst CGI ever and there was a scene where Arnold falls out of an airplane during the day, lands on a car, brushes himself off and drives off into the night. All that in like 30 secs.
Any Highlander except the first one.
I hate Scarface. What a load. I'll never understand why people love it. Horrid acting, except for Steven Bauer, who was actually playing himself.
Top Gun. Why couldn't they have just shown the jets?

Tonight, I'll be watching Battlestar Galactica!

CGI is way overused nowadays. It seems like every lame moment in a movie warrants a CGI touchup. I remember when only the crucial moments got any kind of effects at all, now there's a CG wildebeast running up and down the street during a conversation, just for the hell of it. Blegh!
Conversely, I love em when their done right.

Secret Touch, then Earthshine.

I chose The Pass, but my heart tugged at War Paint and Chain Lightning. In the end, The Pass is just the best.
