  1. The only I'm not too keen on is the length of Providence. I like the ideas they play, and it's very important to the atmosphere of the record, but to me it just doesn't really cover enough ground to justify its full length.

It's a live improv recorded in Providence in 1974 just a week or so before the Red sessions, not a piece written for the record. The original recording is longer. Based on what you have said, I suggest Islands next and going forward chronologically. It foreshadows the Bruford-Wetton era.

  2.

One recording I find really dreadful and so annoying I will never listen to it again, is "Plastic Guitars" from the Hamilton, Ontario show 1991 10 25. One channel is a scanner recording of Alex, the other channel is a poor audience recording. It's super unbalanced and has such an irritating sound quality to it, I find it painful to listen to. I tried to monaural-ize it and it was a marginal improvement but still blech!

Is this on the USB drive? I would love to hear it

  3. Zion is back with a vengeance.

    Will Duke be a 1-seed?

Shouldn't be. If 1 player makes that much difference, that's not an elite level team. Hope his new shoes hold up.

16 pts in first 10 minutes. Dude is a beast.

If he stays healthy and doesn't lose his mind when he gets a huge contract, he should do well in the NBA.

Dookies flop in the NBA. Should have gone to Wake

  4. Mississippi State wins at Georgia on a free throw awarded when a Georgia fan threw a stuffed animal on the court and got a T.

Well, the teams were tied and the player had been fouled and, so, was shooting two. He missed the first, was awarded the technical after the stuffed animal was thrown during his first free throw, and made the technical. With .5 sec on the clock, he then intentionally missed the second of his two original free throws.

    Weird turn of events.

Should have never been a technical. The free throw shooter didn't see the object, and in literally every other similar circumstance I've ever seen, and I've watched a shit ton of college basketball, that has never warranted anything more than a warning over the PA.

So glad Hate Week is over. Suck on it Dook!

Exactly wtf happened that caused Williamson's shoe to self destruct like that? Smh.

    Shoe-gate!

Some are already speculating about litigation but Shesheffski says it's just a mild knee sprain. I'm sure the ambulance chasers would love to take that case against a company with such deep pockets. Had it been a 3rd stringer, it'd be like, "sorry about your shoe".

Shoegate has rattled financial markets worldwide. Sell Sell Sell!

Now Mike The K is "very concerned" about the players knee. Make up your mind already.

It occured to me that Coach K may be changing his story in an effort to get free Nike shoes for his players.

    :P

Good theory, except Nike is 4 years into a 12 year sponsorship for the Dookies.

But it's college. Aren't they amateurs?

    Depends on who you ask
