  1. It's amazing he's still alive though. Doctors should see him as a medical anomaly and want to do studies on him lol.

I thought they did! I could've sworn I read somewhere that a doctor found Ozzy's DNA isn't 100% human, and that's why the drugs and booze haven't quite killed him yet.

Wow, that sounds like such a joke. I think I actually did read an article that said that, I don't think I really believe it

I wonder if Ozzy doing all the drugs and alcohol he's done during his life that it somehow altered his DNA.

Either way it doesn't look like he's in good shape. He and Sharon need to accept that his touring days are over. One bad day with Parkinson's will just lead to him cancelling shows again.

The way I read it, it was some genetic predisposition he was born with which made him more resistant to the more life-threatening effects of drugs and alcohol. Makes you wonder if the same might go for guys like Steven Tyler, Keith Richards, or any number of other rockers who lived the life and made it out in decent shape. Would also explain why some quickly went to far (looking at the grunge movement for example), they simply weren't made of the same stuff and their bodies couldn't take it.

This is all rather morbid. Ozzy's given us years and years of great music and hard touring. If he wants to keep going that's on him, but after what happened to Tom Petty I hate to see an artist make their situation worse for the sake of the fans.

Your intellect and prose always impress me.

You are my long lost son. :)

    I love you dude.

    Never change.

I never do, thank you! :)

    so true haha

  2. I just finished listening to every song in order on my lunch hour today .. I was just listening while I drove .. I had a long road trip taking Entre Perpetuo back to school so that knocked out a lot of it, and it was fun listening with him. I'm circling back to Grace under pressure now .. i really like that one .. silly but for what ever reason I really feel like I miss Neil .. he was an amazing man for sure

  3. I think if it were anyone but Neil Peart that was so quiet and out of the public eye for 3 years, I would have put it together that something was wrong. This was just Neil being Neil, I thought. Living the life of “an ordinary guy, something he just always wanted simply out of life”, as he stated in BTLS. Alex and Geddy were obviously still doing interviews, writing books, occasionally contributing to music etc , Neil wasn’t, but that sounded about right. If it were Alex Or Geddy so quiet so long, then we’d all have assumed something was wrong. That’s what makes it so ironic. Neil was famously private and shy and I think that reputation helped ensure his privacy over the course of his battle. It’s really lovely that his inner circle kept it in the inner circle throughout, I love that they did. Neil deserved that so much

you just said a lot of what I have been thinking about this .. no one really expected anything from Neil anyway after he retired .. I know that's why I was floored by the news .. everything was just as it should be .. ged and Alex were being ged and Alex .. Neil was just being Neil .. or so we all thought

  4. You know another thing. i woke up this morning feeling great. but then my mind landed on oh ya Neil's not here anymore. that DID happan.

Surreal and my friends and it kicks you too earth.

we really are here but for a blink of an eye in the scheme of things.

it's why when i get depressed i fight to stay with it and grounded.

    Mick

when I woke up this morning unfortunately the first thing I thought about was this tragedy .. I thought .. oh that's right Neil died and that sucks!! .. but a lesson I'm taking away from this is get your shit together and retire to do things you want to do as soon as you can .. you just never know when this kind of thing can hit you .. hopefully the year or so he had before he started his cancer battle was just awesome for him and his wife and daughter .. and hopefully even during the battle they had some good times together

  5. You've got to be kidding.

He wasn't just the greatest drummer of all time, he wasn't just one of the greatest lyricists of all time, he was also one of the only rock stars to put his family before his career in the end. How old can his daughter be now? He should've had more time with her, and her with him. :(

I'm sitting at my desk holding back tears .. I'm glad we saw him play together EP
