Are they seriously rolling out the tarp now!?

Just decided to turn on the album and check the forum and happened to see this thread, although today isn't the day.
Not really even in my top 10 albums, but it does have a few good tracks.

First trio would be:
Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures
Second trio would be quite different:
Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows

Somehow "The Bag" needs to make a comeback!
So does this mean Rush is going to tour with The Bag on guitar? Sounds great to me.

Luckily it's due to show in a theater near me, although I'll end up awkwardly sitting alone because I don't know any other Rush fans around here, but then again that's probably the situation for a lot of us, right!? Just me? Okay...

Surprised to see nobody has posted here in quite some time, despite them having released an album this summer.
I'm a big fan of theirs, I like their music from each album, some more than others. Also just got tickets today for March 2017!

I was a minor Rush fan up until when I saw them live, and now I find it difficult not to listen to them every day. I don't think my dad was ever obsessive over Rush, but he didn't have to do much to get me into their music. My older brother was of the same opinion as me before seeing them, and he got into them a little more after seeing them live, but never really too much. I'd say it really depends on the musical taste that they develop, but they're bound to like a song if they hear it enough early on in life (or at least it wouldn't hurt to try and force them into liking Rush!).

1) Natural Science
2) Freewill
3) TSOR
4) Jacob's Ladder
5) Entre Nous
6) Different Strings
Once again another album in which all the songs are great.

My list would change depending on what day I post it but here it is for today:
1) The Camera Eye
2) Red Barchetta
3) YYZ
4) Limelight
5) Tom Sawyer
6) Witch Hunt
7) Vital Signs
Love all of these songs so it's difficult to determine the order.

Primus doesn't exactly appeal to everyone, they're not meant to be taken too seriously.
Jerry Was a Racecar Driver is personally my favorite Primus track and I consider myself a fan of them.

In terms of taking finals, this site (https://rogerhub.com/final-grade-calculator/) will let you calculate what percent you need on your final in order to get a certain grade in a class. I essentially use it to calculate how much effort I need to put into studying for each class and divide study time based on that metric.

Look to Cygnus for the right balance between school and TRF.
Strangely enough, I discovered TRF because I needed something to do instead of listening in class, which I wouldn't recommend, but I still didn't let my grades suffer at the expense of discussing my favorite band.

You got: Subdivisions
You are a naturally introverted person. You are a deep thinker, as well as intelligent and mature for your age. This often times displaces you socially from your peers, making you an outsider of mainstream society. You tend to be a loner, however, fixated on achieving your goals in life.

As you all know, I'm on the bottom of the Rush fan barrel (John Rogers will verify this fact - just ask him), but if it makes me very sad that the Rush you all knew and loved for decades is probably finished, I can't imagine how many of you must feel. It must rip you apart inside.
I'm at the bottom too. I know (not think) that after Grace Under Pressure, they didn't make a really solid album for more than 20 years.
2012 - 1984 = 28
They released a solid album in 2007.
It was a turd to be sure, but more watery than solid. Though if you want to go for dense and turgid, I wouldn't argue too much.
Although if I had insomnia issues, I'd probably rate it more highly. Neil's travelogues set to music might have been as interesting.
It'd be interesting to see how Neil would fit the phrase "large pendulous scrotum" into a song.

TrueRushFan™
in Rush
I like most of their work and generally all decades/eras, but I'm a millennial who uses Spotify Premium, so I feel like I cheated the system a bit. But hey, I'll gladly take the title of TrueRushFan™.
A gleaming alloy air car will be here shortly to escort you from the premises.
Spotify Premium is $10/month, so I will eventually have paid more than everyone else for their music. Eventually.
But I would like to buy vinyls once I have money for it.

I'm going to go ahead and apologize now because this topic has probably been done before.
Being a high school student, I know nobody else in person who has even heard of Rush (except when I've made them listen to me talk about them). I'm sure all of us would like more people to be Rush fans, so what albums or songs would you force (oops, I meant "want") a non-Rush fan to listen to first?

2112, AFTK, Hemispheres, PeW
Love MP but 2112 is essential.

We already have a dedicated thread for Permanent Waves being 70's or 80's, let's keep it away from ruining celebrating how great it is!

I listen to Rush the most of any band by a huge margin. I have an unhealthy addiction to their music.

Dave Grohl- Overture Cover
in Rush
Posted
Just browsing Spotify when I noticed a new addition to the "Rush Complete Collection" playlist (which is entirely missing Vapor Trails). Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins covered the 2112 Overture, produced by Nick Raskulinecz (who also produced S&A and CA).
I didn't think it was too bad, seemed to have a bit darker feel to it.
Thoughts?
