  1. I got the R-40 DVD for Christmas and never looked at the set list. Once everyone was gone on Christmas eve, I put it in the player and cranked up the sound.

My wife and I both loved it, but wondered why we were not hearing some songs we hard live in Greensboro.

I am a bit disappointed that the DVD did not include all the songs used on the tour. Kinda pissed me off a little.

Can I buy the bonus DVD separately? Or must I buy the 3 CD set with two DVD set?

the only bonus songs are red Barchetta one little victory and dew. All of te other songs are only audio in the cd

  2. My recommendations for Rush should they consider touring in the future:

    1. Cut back the number of performances to three a week. Jimmy Buffett (who is 68) has been doing this for years (and even has a live disc titled "Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays") and he seems to be holding up well.

    2. Cut back the show length by about 1/3. Go from 26-7 songs to 20 or so songs, with an intermission. I'd have no problem with a shorter show if it means I can still see you guys play.

    3. Recommendations specifically for Neil:

    a. Stop riding a motorcycle between every show. Drumming like you do for hours is hard enough on your aging body - give it a break!

    b. Take your family along for the tour. Get a nice tour bus; take your daughter around the country and show her all the places you find special - national parks and so forth. Your wife could photojournal the whole thing and you can write a book about it after the tour. That would make a great coffee table book.

    c. Eliminate the drum solo. We can adjust, and it will mean less punishment on your body.

    d. Quit smoking. You'll find you get a lot less winded.

Well, that's my $0.02. What say you, TRF'ers?

What if his daughter has school, so you expect him to take her out for months and miss the beginning of her education

  3. Well I just came back from watching the complete dvd and I think it's great. Sound/mix is very good, the cutting is great - like a fan of the band edited this thing. Nice shots from the stage too. I saw the first nght in Toronto and as far as I can tell they used the entire 2nd night. There may be bits of the first night but I couldn't tell. They made the right decision, the first night had a few blunders and didn't seem to have the energy, plus 2nd night had a better set list and Losing It! Geddy's voice is as good as we can reasonably expect. No complaints by me - I'll be getting this ASAP.

Where did you watch it. Is it online?

Note the label on the package.

Ah, I see it. A Starman flashlight. Thanks. I expected a bonus from BB, but thought it would be a shirt or something.. else. I'll take that light. :)

But would you pay $4.52 for that light, without even being able to see what it looks like? Because that's the price difference between BB and Amazon (not including shipping or taxes, if applicable).

So now they are charging extra for the benefit of having exclusives? When did that start? Best Buy's ReplayX3 and R40 weren't more expensive previously because of the exclusives?

Has anyone figured out if this is the same as the meet and greet flashlight?

It is the meet and greet flashlight. I know it because I was there

  5. Did anyone watch the MLB Central this morning. They interviewed Geddy from his home about the Blue Jays and baseball. But the intro and all the live Rush concert shots all had a R40 Live symbol in the upper left corner!!! Just something I noticed. The camera angles were great!!!
