  1. My favorite active ball player.

RICKEY HENDERSON IS MY NUMBER ONE! CAPS ON!

    RUSH!

    RICKEY!!!!

I cried when they traded him. I said Im never watching this team again...

    Yeah that lasted ;)

    Hahaha!

    So funny! I get it.

I cried when Beane traded Cespedes for that piece of shite Lester.

Alas not a good day for A's baseball.

    Yanks crush.

    A's demolished.

    So..

    THE BRONX!

    Wednesday at 5 pm!!!!

I will probably have a small stroke no matter what the outcome.

Even if my A's are destroyed it's still a dream season.

    A Miracle on 66th Ave.

Ill contend to my dying day that

    1. Giambi was safe. Always f***ing slide!!!

    2. Tejada should have been signed to a long term big money deal instead of Chavez

    3. Lester did not cost the A’s that game. The major turning point came when Soto got hurt and they had to replace him with Norris and the speedy Royals started running all over the place. That A’s team failed because they put power above defense and had a crap bullpen.

The reason or a main reason this team is so good because they really are a defense first team despite the power bats.

  2. Congrats to your A's RH666! They will assuredly move into post season play with a Rays loss and an A's win yesterday. Y'all will have another supporter from a west coast bay city on the east coast :P

    Go A's!

Ehhh not quite. One more game should do it. Yankees will want to hold on to their home field in a wc game.

Well maybe my Rays can play spoiler and whip up on the Yanks when we host them for the next 4 home games

Well I hope they lose only once. I would be better if we just won today and then we don't have to worry about the Rays sweeping the Yanks. I hope that happens but if they lost one game I wouldn't be mad.

I was really surprised when the Rays closed in on the Mariners here, it was like holy crap, this is a team.

  3. I think they could have dropped High Water and Tai Shan, made HYF an 8 song album like PoW and it would have made it a better record. The format change from vinyl to cd made most artists add more material to albums - but often to the detriment of the listening experience. HYF works better imo, as a 40 minute record

    Here's an improved HYF

    Side 1

    Force 10

    Time Stand Still

    Open Secrets

    Second Nature

    Side 2

    Lock and Key

    Turn the Page

    Mission

    High Water

Addition by subtraction - try it you'll like it

    Fixed it for ya

  4. It’s extremely funny how there are extreme opinions on this forum. Rush is done. Neil is an ass waves is a 70s disc . I think the first Rush album gets no respect. Same with all music past mp. It’s cool that we all have different opionions. I just think all their music is top shelf. Too many people stuck from fbn to mp .

For once agree with Tony. You are an dick.

  5. Hey Rod, where can I get the transcription?

Good question... I don't know why they put it there as an option, because I didn't transcribe that one.

Well that explains why I couldn't find the link. :)

Thanks for doing this. I will have to find time to listen to the interview. :)Zappa is my favorite musician of them all. Even Geddy. Funny thing is, Bozzio wasn't even technically the best Zappa drummer, but he was the most fiery and also the biggest character.

  6. Edited down to comparable lengths is the only way to rank the last 3 among my top 5.

    Signals

    Waves

    Hemispheres

    MP

    Windows

Easily my top 5. I didnt always feel that way about Hemis due to the title track, but its such a monumental track that its hard not to rank it amongst the best work they ever did.

Cut 4 songs from the last three and you have 3 separate latter day masterpieces.

  7. Rush - FBN & CoS

breaking the rules, breaking the rules :musicnote:

    He said amazing.

compared to most other artists, FBN certainly has amazing sections. Anthem, BBB, By-Tor, and the title track all come quickly to mind.

and CoS is amazing. No questions asked.

Overrated. In fact. Its not. It sucks.

    cat_diarrhea.gif

Yeah exactly. They tried to shit on the wall and make it stick. Good analogy Lucas.

  8. The film Roger Rabbit made good use of it.

Traveller's pro tip: This rhythm is used differently in the Latin world. If driving in Mexico and someone toots their horn or whistles this tune at you, it's not because they're fans of classic cartoons. "Shave and a haircut" has the same rhythm as the Spanish phrase "Chinga tu madre", or in English, "F- your mother". :P

The response, "Two bits" matches "Cabron", or " A-hole".

Thanks. This can help me at work. ;)

BOTH of these replies SCARE me. I saw the mention of the Mexican version, but I didn't read it. I think I will now! And I hope your situation at work changes so you don't NEED to Digital Dad!

Nah, I was joking. already Use the phrases Cabron and Change all the time. Its just part of how we get through the day (I work in a kitchen at a Country Club, cooks can be a brutal bunch if you don't know how to play the game and I am a master of it).

  10. Rush did. Those songs have never appeared on anything since then either

    s/t came out in 74...

I believe he’s referring to the Can’t Fight it/NFA single, which was released on a 45 in 1973.

I was talking about albums in the OP, so I'd say that doesn't count

Title says record and is vague enough to mean album or 45 but you clarify later on.

Of bands I like, admire and respect the only one I can think of at the moment is Genesis Live.

I suppose it's vaguer than I could've made it, but mostly when I say record I do mean full length lp.

And Genesis Live? I mean, it's no seconds out, and the sound quality isn't the absolute greatest, but I quite enjoy that record myself.

I'm glad that you enjoy it but it really doesn't do much for me.

Seconds Out and Three (Four) Sides Live are my favorite commercially released Genesis live albums..

The Rainbow gig released in the Boxed set is better than G Live imo. And I love GLive. The Rainbow has an amazing Suppers Ready.

Are you just not into that period of Genesis?

My favorite era of Genesis does not involve Peter Gabriel. (His solo stuff is amazing, however.)

    Lol. You and Mick.
