  1. "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." -- John Rogers
  2. This is a poll based on the original post by Jaminbenb. Is the following the real setlist, yes or no? The votes are public, so when Rush actually starts the tour, we will know who the "true believers" are, and who are the "ye of little faith!"

  3. I totally know what he's saying here, I sucked at sports too when I was a kid:

When your boyhood fate was to be pathetic at sports, you had no hope of being the one to catch the winning pass, hit the grand slam, or (best of all for a Canadian boy) score the overtime goal.

These are just a few of his awards and acknowledgements...

I do agree he is an grossly under-rated guitar player....not sure why?

The industry has thrown him a few bones over the years...but he deserves so much more mainstream attention and rating by the industry and even his peers.

I think the biggest fact that Alex is not as highly rated overall , is that Alex's band is still basically an unknown ( in the mass music industry), weird, prog cult band.

Also made the Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarists list (just barely though):
