Going back to this topic, Sometimes I do feel that guitarists tend to be a little elitist when it comes to the idea of doing something that changes the instrument itself or experiments with it. For example, the Misa Kitara (which wasn't even a guitar, rather it was a guitar shaped synthesizer) and the Gittler Guitar (which is a headless guitar made entirely of stainless steel) got the shit beaten out of them....
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I feel like these instruments weren't even given a fair chance to see their full capabilities.

What can I say about this game other than it pretty much changed my life...Now I know that there are many other "interactive cinema" games out there like The Wolf Among Us and Game Of Thrones, but the Life Is Strange games have such a bewitching charm to them....The main characters seem so...human. They make many mistakes and they may do things that annoy us, but in the same vein when you hear their stories, you find yourself comparing yourself and your experiences in life with these characters....I'm not giving away too many details about this game because I think that everybody needs to check this game out for themselves. You might love it, you might not love it, but all I ask is that whoever picks it up for the first time, please play Life Is Strange or Life Is Strange: Before The Storm with an open mind and an open heart.

Just curious how much were tickets?
I saw them in Huntington, LI. I paid $40 each, but that was for front row balcony, geddy side.
Isn't that a lot for a cover band? I honestly don't know but it seems like it to me.
$10 if you wanted to stand in GA.
$10 is a totally different story.
For $40, a cover/tribute has got to totally get the spirit and vibe of what they are playing for me to see them and even then Marillion or Emerson Lake and Palmer tribute band would have to drop out of the sky for me to even consider it.
I wouldnt be going on and on as much if they didn't do just that. Trust me, these guys are definitely worth seeing.
I'd rather see 4 different cover bands over 4 gigs in GA for $40 than 1 cover band with reserved seating for that same price.
Your loss.

Seriously, I like this song a lot. It's a very catchy song with a great riff and when it was preformed live, it seriously looked like they had a lot of fun playing it. I'd rather listen to Superconductor any day over Rivendell, Dog Years, or The Speed of Love.

What can you say?
"Some worldviews are spacious, some are merely spaced."

This whole thing is just really stupid and pointless. There was a time where I'd criticise the way Neil retired but it's just a waste of time. What's done is done.
Would I like him too see Rush go on a final tour as a way to say goodbye to the fans? Hell yeah. But it's probably not gonna happen.

If synth pop is making a comeback, then I seriously urge everybody to check out NewRetroWave on YouTube, some seriously good shit!

I think it's only fair that if the idea for a religion subforum was pitched, I should pitch my idea for an LGBT subforum.
If you're only pitching the idea to counter the suggestion for a religious sub forum then you're doing this for the wrong reasons.
That's not the only reason. I've had this idea in my head for a while, but I never asked about it until today.

If you want to discuss LGBTQRST issues, go to a forum for that.
Just a simple question, why can't we do it here?

Keep in mind I'm talking about songs where synths are very prominent, in songs like Xanadu, A Farewell To Kings, YYZ and Tom Sawyer, they're more of an accent.

1. The Restless Young Romantics: A subforum meant for the younger fans of Rush or people that only became fans recently and either never seen them live, or only saw them live a few times. This is a place where people can review Rush songs they just listened to for the first time or discuss why they love Rush and what makes Rush tic to them.
2. Against The Run Of The Mill: Seeing as how we have New World Women, a forum for female Rush fans, I think that we should have a subforum for Rush fans who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. This is a place to discuss LGBT issues in the news, share advice about dating, coming out, etc.
Anyway, what do you think?

Even though the keyboards were introduced to Rush in 1977, In my honest opinion the first true synth-era Rush song was The Camera Eye. No bass guitar is played at all in the first minutes of the song, only keyboards. Many times in the song, Ged switched between keys and bass. Of course, this makes Witch Hunt the second synth based Rush song. Overall, I think those two songs, Camera Eye and Witch Hunt, was what set the stage for what Rush was going to be for the rest of the 1980s, with songs that prominently feature Geddy Lee playing both bass and keyboards in the same song.

No self respecting Dream Theater fan should ever listen to this record:

I like the astonishing
But listen to Madmen and Sinners instead ;)

This has become my number one favorite progressive metal album. Every single song is not only heavy, but also absolutely beautiful as well. Tim Donahue's fretless guitar gives a very unique guitar tone with tons of wicked bends and vibrato. Many times, the songs feature heavily downtuned "djent" style riffing, but also contrasts that with gorgeous, lush keyboards. James LaBrie's singing is absolutely too notch on this record and shows off his very impressive range.
Personally, my favorite song on this record is the self titled final track, a 15 minute miniature metal opera that features the best qualities of this record, heaviness with gorgeous melody.
Anyway, you seriously need to check this out if you haven't.

I wasn't a big fan of Tom Petty, but the fact that this happened just mere hours after what happened in Las Vegas is a sullen reminder that anything can happen in this f***ed up world we live in :(

Just checked em out on youtube, at least was probably them anyway, unless theres another tribute act with same name. Pretty darn good, did a very decent Big Money and the guitarist got a great 80s Al thing goin on, thanks for heads up
I was nervous goin in based on the you tube clips. Thought the singers falsetto kept popping out of his fake Geddy falsetto and briefly revealed his real voice.
But live, they sounded great, played great, and even had a decent Rush themed light and video show. Considering this was their first show... impressive. They put alot of thought and effort into the show
Those in the ny area, they are playing the city in Nov. Worth it.
I was impressed he was able to hit those highs in 2112.

The guys who plays Geddy owns all the basses that Geddy Lee has played with the exception of the Wal, but that's understandable.
Not a lot of people want to shell out five figures for a musical instrument, no matter how gorgeous it sounds.
Big Interview SPOILER THREAD!!!

So he just went with what Neil is doing, again.
That is so disappointing.
