  1. Yeah, I don't know how he got that calendar gig either....I recall the claim there was to be a second edition that corrected the mistakes, but then he went Internet silent.

I'd heard the same thing. A group of us (the writers of "The Camera Eye" webzine) were compiling factual errors we'd found, with the idea of sending them forward to him for a future edition. Nothing came of it.

In my younger days, I'd go on a crusade about all this stuff. Now I usually just try provide as much evidence as I can and leave it at that.

Oh, how I went on crusades! Up all night, arguing with people on the Internet, composing these perfectly well-worded diatribes. Check for a response in the morning, think about my response to their response while on the way to work, type it while at work, back and forth for nearly a week, at which point things would blow over but not before I felt exhausted and full of self-hatred for being such a prickly douche. I got smart; I don't do that shit any more. It's pointless, and just made me feel terrible. My wife couldn't understand why I bothered, and she was right. This cartoon hit a little too close to home:

  2. That blog sucked so hard that it literally made me want to sh*t on my computer.

Rivendell is cool. So is the "philosophical bullsh*t" of Anthem.

Phruck your stereotypical apologies for Geddy's voice of that era as well as Rush's subject matter...and your absolutely lame overused trite unoriginal descriptions.

I don't even think msnbc would hire you...no matter how stereotypically left-wing your blogging style. And, remember...those are the same doo-chez that hired Al Sharpton. "Resist we much"...

    Immense failure.

Is this really fair considering everything you said could equally compare with your dire and childish comment about Presto in another thread?

Seriously dude...this blog is by another fan and he had fun writing it!

Yes it's fair, because you can NOT "equally compare" Fly By Night and Pissto...one is great and one has two or three OK songs. You just simply cannot compare "In the End" to "Available Sh*t" as simply contemplating doing so causes a hungry child in a 3rd world country somewhere to be attacked by a rabid polar bear who is upset over global warming.

You're an angry dude, aren't you?

Or maybe you're just 12 years old?

  3. Awful. Just awful.

It's so sad to me that with every great invention, someone inevitably finds a way to f*** it up.

    I invented electricity!!

Great! We'll build an electric chair.

I invented a gun to help us hunt food.

Awesome! I'll kill you with it and take your food.

I invented music. There's something here as strong as life!

    Great, I'll write "Beri, Beri".

  4. Leaving? i just got here.

That explains everything... what did you say to her?

Ah ha!! I knew this guy was trouble..... :sarcastic:

    Who, me? :eh:

You are from the Peoples Republic of Maryland aren't you? :D

Guilty as charged. Sorry for making Hobo leave everyone. Sorry.

We have quite a few Marylanders here a we never cause any trouble....

Cool. Going to the Fish Head Cantina next Friday? My co-workers Rush tribute band is playing there with a Zeppelin tribute band.

  5. As I found out before, the map shows state-by-state, which artist has the most disproportionate popularity vs. the national average.

So, if Joe Smegma is googled twice per year, per capita, nationally, but 25 times per year per capita in Idaho, he "wins" Idaho (because he's 13.5 times more popular in Idaho than he is nationally), even though say, Lady Antebellum gets googled 10,000 times per year in Idaho (vs. a national average of 5,000) and is only twice as popular as average.

    :eh: Huh?

I work in Delaware. As soon you cross the state line it is mandatory that you listen to Rush. Fortunately it has never been been a problem for me.
