  1. Well we have finished our annual 4 days of golf watching at Bay Hill. Were the greens firm and fast and the wind blowing? Oh yes. Very tough scoring conditions to say the least. A survival test to be sure. We walked a grand total of 40 miles for the four days and saw lots of golf. Congrats to Tyrrell Hatton for surviving the best...

I bet you had a blast!

I was just thinking that I need to get out and play

It was great but the wind was annoying and constant throughout the week. It was almost 90 degrees Thursday and in the low 60's by Saturday. We have gone for all 4 rounds the last 3 years but next year I'm eying the PGA championship in Charleston at Kiawah Island instead. If we can get tickets and God willing I will be attending that one instead...

  3. Lessons is the worst huh? Talk about a great album...smh

If something has to be it, it has to be Lessons it Tears. Every track is excellent.

It seems a common theme lol. I guess I have been hearing something different for over 40 years. It would be closer to my favorite than worst. I find hilarious when people diss Something For Nothing also. I think with that one the All The World's A Stage version influences me heavily. It was really my first Rush and I wore the hell out of it before I bought any studio works...

  4. Sorry to hear. I have as most people parted with animals naturally and by having to put them down. I lost my cat of 17 years a few months ago of apparently natural causes. She showed no signs of any issues and I found her passed when I woke up one morning. It was sad but I felt better about it than some of my past experiences with months of suffering etc. It's never easy...

  5. I remember it like it was yesterday. My brother and I were working on a brick laying crew in the dead of a Maryland winter when I heard the news on the radio. I was fortunate however to see them in all their glory the previous October with Pat Travers Band opening. I will never forget that show. I saw them twice after that but it was never the same....RIP

  6. I’ve done Barclays (now Northern Trust) at Ridgewood Country Club, Plainfield CC, and also Liberty National, PGA at Baltusrol, and Presidents Cup at Liberty National. All in NJ. The men.

Soooooo much fun. Nothing this year because NT is up in Boston, and I didn’t sign up in enough time for whatever the one is in CT later this year. Not PGA, I forget who runs it.

    The Travelers I think...
  7. I used to listen to him back in the early 90s. I can't recall the last time I did. Frankly, I preferred some of the guest hosts to his program.

That said, I suspect everyone knows someone who has battled cancer. It might win quickly, it might win slowly, and some (but not many) people do beat it. In all but the smallest number of cases, it nonetheless puts a person through hell. I like 99.99% of the people who post regularly on this site. I simply won't believe that there is ANYONE in that majority who truly thinks that ANYONE who isn't a murderer or the like deserves to be diagnosed with cancer.

Interesting I started listening from time to time just in the last few years. Honestly I can't stand the hyperpartisan on either side. Can't stand Hannity or Maddow for example. Listening to Mr Limbaugh from time to time I get the attraction millions have to him however...
  8. This is a man who has never harmed anyone. His only 'crime' is speaking his mind.

And the reaction is "He's lowered the quality of discourse, he deserves this." The irony is stunning.

I hope Rush can defy the odds and beat this thing- for the legions of fans he's entertained for decades, for the people his empire has employed, for the kids with cancer he's donated millions to over the years, for the military families he helps support, for the ideals he champions, and for the shallow haters he exposes. I hope he keeps at his mission for years to come.

This^^^^ and I'll just leave it at that...

  9. I wonder if this tournament was later in the season, when the competition is tight and everyone is getting more stressed out, if the atmosphere would be as tolerated by the players as it is when it's still relatively "early."

I marshal at a PGA tournament every year, and I don't think I'd want to do this one, on any hole!

    Which tournament do you marshal?...
  10. Enjoying the hell out of the Mahomes picks. Guess he's not a Hall of Famer quite yet...

For the record. Still can't stand him...

Why not? He's a class act.

Can't explain it. Some athletes/people just don't do it for me. Situations like this help me to understand why some are haters of TW, Brady etc. The media pile on only serves to further my dislike...
