  1. I won my match last night after 6 holes. I played very well, as i was even after those 6 holes. Next up the semis! I will be giving a stroke on 3 holes though.

In my match, after 4 holes I was 3 up. On hole #5 my opponent hit his approach about 2.5 feet from the hole. I hit mine to about 15 feet.

So my question is: Would you have conceded his putt before you putted? If you make your putt (as I did), would you then concede his putt? Or would you have made him putt it regardless?

Also, do you ever concede birdie putts? I never want a birdie putt conceded to me, as i want to "earn" my birdies.

    Thanks.

No to conceding a 2.5 birdie putt.

Agreed. No concession unless it's literally a kick in. Two and a half footers can and are missed by folks like us (unfortunately lol)....
  2. Just for the record, I'm comfortable with my mortality. Midlife crisis pretty much didn't happen for me. I went from, "immortal gonna' live forever to "oh well, I'm gonna' die someday. Whatever". **

I don't fear death. Don't want it to happen any time soon though. Don't want it to be stupid, senseless or violent.

In truth, I think the world is pretty boring. Life is a struggle - have to fight for every inch, and when I get somewhere I have to defend it against the thieves and have-nots.

Despite this, I do the best I can to be happy and provide for my family. But f**k it, I'm not worried about the end. There's nothing special here anyway - just a bunch of tribal humans who think their religion/country/identity is the best, and want to dominate everyone else because of it.

    It got old, fast.

**We're only immortal for a limited time.

Since I work with mostly older folks, I often hear, "don't get old" to which I reply, "but what's the other option?" Ultimately I'm not worried about dying but as others have said, I worry about those left behind and I don't really want to go in any kind of a painful fashion.

I used to work with a guy who was known to say he wanted to die when he was 101 after "getting shot in the ass screwing the neighbor's wife."

My grandma used to tell me "don't get old" all the time. You're right, what is the other option? Putting a bullet in your head once you think you've gotten too old?

I turned 40 last week and I'm good with however long I may have left. I could drop dead tomorrow or make it another 40 years. Whatever happens will happen and I'm fine with that.

Yep. I remember thinking way back I hope to live to see the year 2000. Then I just wanted to raise my children to adulthood (2010ish). It been gravy ever since and will be till I'm gone...
  3. VT is top 5 with me, in all it's misshapen glory.

Debut would be up there too, along with PeW (love that acronym), MP and...Fly by Night?

AtWaS displaces FBN if live albums allowed. Pretty much a perfect album to my ears (and eyes).

I have an original pressing of that album

    Nice! Same here.

It was so cool to listen while looking at the pics...and staring at all those drums and cymbals and cowbells etc

    "Spirits of Illusion, descend!"

If I bought mine in 77', does that count?...

    I bought mine in '76 :P

Now that I think about it I am pretty sure I bought mine in 75'...

    1975 ?? .. You're probably thinking of Kiss Alive

  4. Wow so many jerks in the comments lmao

    Just you, actually.

How am I a jerk thou??

Like fr I'm not, I am one of the nicest persons you will ever meet!!

You're so nice, you ghost your friends and drag their name through the dirt on TOST

No I do not, seriously don't start trying to make this thread about me, because I don't want that.

You did a pretty good job by pulling a Zumbi and calling 90% of the thread jerks.

    "A Zumbi" lol...
  5. Tiger playing well.

If he could just putt 80% as well as he once did...

That 3 putt on 17 was a killer

Indeed. All The pars in a row were fine because everyone has trouble with the back nine. I was thinking the whole time, just birdie 17, par 18 and finish at 9 and its all good. It's only one shot but it seems like more....
  6. I can't remember the last time I watched anything on any ESPN channel. I want zero politics mixed in with my sports if at all possible. It's difficult to avoid altogether no matter what I choose to watch but I'm not gonna go looking for it certainly...

You didn't watch the first two rounds of the Masters?

Was it on ESPN lol? I watched all the early coverage on PGA tour live...

  9. Very interesting to see UK on this list.

Allan Holdsworth is super underrated guitar player, he has some great music. Cool read

I bought UK(Self titled), Danger Money and UK live when they came out. At the time I didn't even realize the significance of the band members, I just thought it looked like something I would enjoy. I bought a lot of albums that way not even knowing anything about the band or music inside. Different times back then for sure...

  10. hm...

VT or CoS would probably get a grandma out of the house, honorable mention to AFTK for that sudden blast at the start, and of course ATWAS would probably be best.

RTB might make me leave the room, but would probably be inoffensive enough for other parties. Presto might bring us together.

Agreed on ATWAS. Ged's voice alone would scare off any non fan of any age. I have personal experience over the years with this. They just don't hear it like I do...

  11. My first experience with Rush was seeing them on the TV show Don Kirschner's Rock Concert in the wee hours of the night in 1977 .. It was love at first listen, and I had great parents who always encouraged me to listen to music - so within a few short weeks, I had everything from The Debut thru A Farewell To Kings and I loved all of it ... At the time, I'm not sure my 10 year old ears grasped the chronological progression the band had made, but there was not one thing about them I didn;t love ..

Hemispheres was no different, as I remember thinking that they were starting to take the place of my other favorite band who had slipped a bit by that point ....

Jan 1980, my Dad is driving me to my second ( and last ) guitar lesson, and at a stop light, the DJ says "and here's a new one from Rush" - there was a split second pause that lasted what seemed like an hour, and then the flanged riff to Spirit Of Radio comes on and, holding my guitar notebook in the front seat with the chords to Blowin; In The Wind scribbled on it, I think "THIS is the kind of guitar I want to play" as Alex and the band launch into yet another great song ..

By the time Moving Pictures hit the stores, I had already seen them in concert three times .... Along with this new band called Iron Maiden, Rush were my favorite .... but that started to change with Moving Pictures ... I didn;t love it like I did the others ..

I bought both Signals and Grace when they were released, and continued to see them live, but the Grace was the last Rush album I bought until Feedback came out ..

Moving Pictures is an iconic album, and my love for songs like Vital Signs and Witch Hunt has really grown over time ... Signals and Grace I listen to now but I can;t say I love either ...

Since the band retired, I now own everything, and the one album that I have really warmed to is Vapor Trails ( with, ironically enough Freeze being the most warmed )

I love the band, and while I hesitate to use the word "never", but I don;t think it;s ever going to happen between myself and Presto or Roll The Bones ...

    .

I didn't know Grace was your last also, same as me...
