My dad and I were in Michigan for the weekend for the Auburn Hills show (which was amazing) and when we got back today, I had an envelope waiting for me. It was my copy of Clockwork Angels that was signed by the guys for my dad! He's been a fan since the 70s, so I wanted to do something very nice for him (besides taking him to see them in Cincinnati in 2013 and now in Auburn Hills). He was so surprised!

Now I just gotta figure out which show to send them a picture I took in 2012 so I can have their autographs as well.

So guys, let me get your opinion on this. What day would be better for my item to arrive in Buffalo (the show is June 10). Have it arrive on the 9th? Or the 8th?

 

Ok I am bumping my question here...sorry if it sounds silly but I do worry about it being there "too early". They won't be there the 8th, they will be there the 9th but then I don't want it to arrive too late on the 9th either. :)

 

I've heard as long as it's not more than a few days early, it should be ok. So I would think the 8th would be ok. It hopefully shouldn't be too early, but if you can aim for the 9th, that would probably be the best.

I bought my dad the stamps, an OFDC, and a postcard. Bought myself an OFDC and a postcard. They're great.

I just called Pepsi Center Guest Relations and left a message, hopefully they will call me back before I go to pick up my husband because I will be heading over to the Post Office to send our Honeymoon photo that John Arrowsmith took to have it signed, the receptionist that I spoke to made it sound like they do it all of the time so I think that would be a good venue to try.

 

I don't want to wait too long, since the concert is in a week. I'll keep an eye on this post, but I may just go ahead and send it anyways.

Yeah I thought it was coming in the Spring of this year, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. I suspect they will have to finish the tour before there is any time to work on it. How about a box set of several shows? Want it. Want it. Want it.

 

I heard they pushed it back because they want to include stuff from the RRHOF and because they wanted to wait until the tour was over. I hope they won't wait until December. I'd like it soon.

I called the Sprint Center last week...they didnt hesitate to tell me they will NOT forward mail to the band

 

Well that sucks.

 

Anyone know if the Pepsi Center in Denver forwards mail?

What if I just wanted to send something, like a book, to one of the guys? Where would I send that to?

Rush should not tour for the 40, 41 or 42 anniversary. They have over saturated the touring market right now. IMO Rush needs to do something special for every tour from now on kind of like playing MP in its entirety. It brought the crowds - gotta do 2112 or PEW or something

I say they should follow Metallica's idea and rent a place (Radio City or a smaller place in Toronto like Massey Hall) for a week and play 3 or 4 shows all with different setlists where no songs are repeated and charge only $30 for each ticket

No big light rigs or props - just keep it minimal and focus on the music - could have guest musicians come and play certain songs that require additonal guitars and keyboards and bring in Ben Mink for Losing It and other orchestra players for some CA material

Make it more of a party over a few days

Record and film it - release the blu ray and CD boxset- work on new material before and after gigs - tour new album with some kind of special reason to get people into the seats

 

Oversaturated the market? Yeah right. Maybe if Rush was playing in the same state four or five times in a year, then sure. There's one band I've seen about five times in a single year. Rush comes this way once a year, if we're lucky. That's not oversaturation. They've been touring for not even a year for an album that's been out for one year. They only tour a few months out of the year. That's no where close to oversaturation.

 

That being said, I'm sure they'll take at least a year off, if not two or three, before they return to the road. And they deserve a break. They've been amazing on this tour and deserve some time off.

Does anyone know if the Sprint Center in Kansas City will forward stuff to the band? I don't want to bother them with an e-mail if someone already knows.
