Hmm, my 8 year old son and I just finished a read aloud of The Hobbit....I saw the first of the 3 new movies (thought it kinda sucked, especially compared to LOTR) Rutlefan also listed in his top 5!

Doubt it....it is a great song, one of the best from Clockwork Angels, but to be honest, I don't think ive listened to that album in a year or two..Probably last time I listened to the song was live at R40.

 

There are a lot of good Rush songs and albums that I get an urge to listen to every month or so....but I dont think anything on CA fits that category. I kinda feel like CA was like the new Star Wars, Force Awakens. Was really cool at first but for me hasnt aged particularly well.

Do you have any songs that you like that have lyrics that can be viewed as somewhat silly and nonsensical?

 

For me, a good example of this would be the Yes song Love Will Find A Way. It's a pretty kickass 80s Yes song, but that's the song that has a rather infamous line..."I eat at chez nous"...As much as I love that song, that line does comes off as really random and silly.

 

Off topic, but since you brought up Love will Find a Way....what do you think of Open your eyes?

Not an option...but Genesis w Peter Gabriel would be the #1 choice....

 

However- A Trick of the Tail, Wind and Wuthering, Duke....all good albums, and better than any Gabriel solo albums IMO. A trick of the tail especially, is up there with gabriel era genesis.....Steve Hackett still around

I really think it's a very average effort for Rush ... but I gave it a five because they really nailed in on R40 ... otherwise it would be a three from me
