QUOTE (CanEHdian @ Nov 11 2005, 11:31 AM) QUOTE (sullysue @ Nov 11 2005, 10:44 AM) QUOTE (physics23 @ Nov 11 2005, 03:24 AM) QUOTE (CanEHdian @ Nov 11 2005, 01:17 AM) Great little read
50 short stories about some pretty wild crimes committed with the least likely of instruments. An umbrella, a rattlesnakeand even a pair of panties
Good book if you like this sort of thing..I doOh, I just love killing people with panties!
Absolutely the best way.
I won't be reading anything for next couple of weeks. Then, depending on who wins at thebookforum.com, I'll be reading either The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe or Lolita.
After that, sullysue, we'll do a TRF group read of The Old Man and the Sea, maybe.
Well, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is such a great book. But, I read it when I was 11.
My daughter just did a book report about The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe..and she is 12
I Love this TRF Book Club idea
My son is doing a before school book club and they are reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. They are wrapping it up just in time to take a field trip to go see the movie. Every week they have to read a chapter or two and answer questions about the book.
I like the idea too of a Book Club.

Anyone watch Dan Radcliffe this morning on the Today Show and Live with Regis and Kelly? Hes also going to be on Martha Stewert. Had a couple of clips but no new ones. He gets very embarassed talking about girls. Rumor has it that he has a Girlfriend, a 23 yr old girlfriend! Apparently legal age in the UK is 16 so no laws are being broke.
Emma Watson will be on Live next Tuesday.

Ya AGP, he plays Remus Lupin.
This guy looks pretty yummy.

Plotline Spoiler here Donna for Goblet Of Fire.
Goblet Of Fire is supposed to be the best one yet, at least by what I have heard from those who have seen the movie already. Not recommended for small children so watch out if you take your small ones! Apparently the dragon fights, Mer people, Voldemort and the intense scenes where Wormtail cuts off hand, Cedric dies and Harry and LV duel are pretty intense. They say that this movie is for the teen and adult crowd.
Also anyone re-reading GOF before they go see the movie? I am!
If anyone would like to chat about Harry Potter IM me on AIM as I would love to throw some ideas around, gotten a lil deep into it.
Horcruxes, spiders, snakes, ghosts and more!

Ok the Fourth movie is getting ready to come out on Nov 18th. Yes you should read the books first as they are brilliantly written. The movies do follow along with the books but just like with any movie from a book there is ALOT left out, general stuff is there. There are a ton of anagrams, refrences to mythology with character names and you will read about stuff that is so minor you will overlook only have it to come back in a major way. Its actually amazing just how much work she has put into this storyline and all the connections. 7 books in all, 6 are released and Jo Rowling is currently starting on the final book.
Movies so far.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban
and of course the one being released on the 18th
Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire.

Anyone seen the Noble Collection? With Christmas coming I am sure you will find something you want from here. Harry Potter Line

Its all about Hermione Slaine!

I certainly hope Robbie Coltrane comes back along with the rest of the actors we have grown accoustomed to!
Apparently Ginny is supposed to look quite young in this movie mostly due to make up however they did do a great job picking out the actress to play her. There has been an aweful lot of talk of how much Ginny is supposed to resemble Lily Potter and I can see why. Here is her pic from the London GOF premiere. Also alot of people have been saying that she was not pretty enough to be Harrys love, she looks great in this pic!

Anyone going to the Midnite showing? I wish I could!
News too on OOTP, filming starts in Feb and the casting of Luna is almost complete as they are now down to 5 finalists. She will play in big part in the movie and JKR is working with the director to get the Black Tapestry perfect ( Sirius' Mother).

That one is really cool looking. I can see why it is called the Bubble Nebulae.

I went to the theater and saw a movie when I was about 7 that I have never been able to watch again, The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane starring Jodie Foster. Creeped me out so I understand about The Exorcist. Sometimes its not the gore or the jumping out that gets you.

Just wrapping up from watching Sith for the second time this evening. Man I need a giant oversized HD thin flat screen tv!

OK because I love Harry Potter so much and because I do visit this forum I will give you all a heads up even though I run my own movie forum on another Rush board ( In fact RF and I took it over from the legendary Jack Aubrey when he left).
13 clips can be found here.

Love the Books Of Blood Series! Wonder if we will ever see the shorts made into movies, kinda like Creepshow. I really like the story about the guy who kidnaps people and makes them face their fears, particularly the girl who is vegetarian and gives her a side of beef that just sits there and she has to eat it. Way cool!!!!

No I had the right movie, I just thought that Burt Reynolds had a small role in the movie. Dont know why I have Burt in it but I have never seen the other movie you listed. My memory is terrible with specifcs though.

This the one with the woman with the red hair and Burt Reynolds? I think it was about a Texas Governor, someone running for some Political office. If it is then ya its funny. I havent seen it in years.

Theres a great Winery here in Missouri that produces some great Wine. St.James Winery they have an online store. The Velvet Red is really good but it is a sweet wine.
Edited to include a link to Stone Hill, Mike and I have had the Vignoles, the link will take you to the White Wine listing with lots of info on the wines they make. Stone Hill Lots of great information about taste and what food the wine goes with.
-
Davey, I would be more than happy to give you a personal tour of my area!
-
Drinking a glass of local wine, St.James Winery- Velvet Red. Very Nice too! OK so I will probably end up having more than one glass as it is quite tasty!
Surprisingly our area here in Missouri is known for its many varieties of wines. There are MANY wineries here and well worth checking them out if you ever pass through.

I had 2 bottles of Smirnoff Ice and a bottle of Wine while watching Sideways. Yep I am buzzed!
Which book?

I went with CS Lewis. I have never read this book, yes surprising I know! My son is also reading so we have it here and the movie is coming out.
My question is, How long do we have to read the book? Those are both short ones and can be read easily within an hour or 2.
