Love the season so far.

Hasn't this movie been in post-production for a good 2 years? Are they waiting until Mel Gibson is forgotten about, so people go to the movie, see him as the producer, and go, "oh, he's the crazy one, right?" Instead of knowing that beforehand? Will I finish every sentence in a question mark? Yes?

Couldn't stand this one. I think it was because it wanted to feel Tarantino-esque. It ended up on its face. I really did not enjoy this movie, and that doesn't happen often.

I'm there.

We can search by member name, total posts and join date.
Why Can't we search by Post per Day Average?
Probably because the designers of this board software didn't think it was an important stat. I'm inclined to agree.
Hmm.
Ok, i was just wondering
Edit: But then why in our profile can we see our daily posts per day average?
Because it's a personal stat. That's why it's in your profile and not part of the board stats. Nobody else cares how many times you post in a day.

I'll watch tonight to get a preview of them acoustic. I'm seeing their acoustic show when they open for Dylan on one of my dates (possibly).

I hate that all the internet nerds that find it cool to cling to a horrible movie are giving it a 10 (out of 10) on IMDb. It currently has 13,106 votes of 10. Many of these are confirmed to be votes cast by a few people with many accounts.

QUOTE (pixey @ Aug 23 2006, 05:03 PM) V, geesh where do I start. How about his multi personality disorder!? See I am funny, no I am a warrior, no I am political, no I am gentle, no I am a kidnapper and a torturer, no wait and on and on. No consistency to his character!
Because obviously, a character can have only one use. Because, that's how humans are. Obviously.

QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 22 2006, 11:36 PM) QUOTE (thestand @ Aug 22 2006, 10:34 PM) Try the guy in my signature, Jack White. Of White Stripes fame, I honestly think he's the only great guitar soloist that's not in metal, and that can still make radio hits. Did you watch the solo? If not, you have no right to comment. Skip the vocals, I believe the solo starts around 2:17. Otherwise, there's no need for bitching. That response is ironic in this thread especially, since we're talking about not having guitar solos, and I present an example of a mainstream guitarist who does solo well, and you give a no-word response. f***ing disgusting.

EDIT: Just to clarify, the vid in my signature is not the White Stripes, it's his new band, The Raconteurs.

Everyone heard the Rush reference, right? One of the roasters said he had used one of the lines on the internet, and another person responded "LMFAOWIPAJJBAFIMAAAMMTMTTDRFBNA, which means laughing my figurative ass off while I put a Jar Jar Binks action figure in my actual ass, and my mom tells me to turn down Rush's Fly by Night album." Obviously not verbatim, but very close.

Someone give me one, as I rarely pick up my Chapman Stick anymore

QUOTE (third hand grace @ Aug 19 2006, 11:08 AM) btw
I'm making a movie today, don't have a title yet. Can someone give me one?
Oh, and can someone give me some ideas to put into it?
Thanks.
It'll be out next week, only ten bucks a person.I don't have a name, but I have a suggestion- skip dialogue and plots, character development and emotion, and just have people get bit by snakes. As I guess that's the only way to sell a script to Hollywood.

The fact that this script got the greenlight makes me want to kick a puppy in the face.

I believe the Japanese show is something like Takeshi's Castle. That is an actual gameshow, not meant really to be funny. The overdubs and random titles are what make the show. Oh, and seeing Japanese people injured. I mean, when isn't that fun?

Saw this preview before Ricky Bobby. I love S.B.C., and find him to be one of the best character comedians today.

This is Carter Beauford's TRADEMARK
While soloing, he'll blow bubbles.

Even though I know it's not what you're looking for, here's the only thing I can throw in- do what's comfortable.
I've never been comfortable with a pick, and play most guitar and bass naturally. But for my rare guitar solos (if I solo, it's on bass or keys) I felt the need to use a pick, and my speed and accuracy suffered. After a long time trying that, I just said f**k it, and I played my solos finger style, like a bass. And it turned out many many times better. Not only am I faster, but my solo now sounds like my solo, not just like every other young guitarist. And even though most of my solos on guitar are improv, I have replicated others before, and this playing style also helped my speed.
If you want an example, check out Derek Trucks' solos. My style is very similar.
EDIT: Here's a Trucks' solo, for an example-

QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 8 2006, 12:22 PM) QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 8 2006, 04:04 AM) The wife and I rented Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle and neither of us could appreciate it. I guess you have to be a toker - and a certain kind of toker - to enjoy it. (Even if I still smoked, I don't think I'd like these movies.) I haven't smoked in almost 20 years, and my wife never has, and we both thought Harold & Kumar was hilarious.
I appreciated it both on and off.

Been looking forward for this for a looooooooooong time. Honestly, I think one of my earliest posts was about this movie. I remember it was early, because it was back when I thought posts were supposed to be 3 paragraphs long (taken from the school of Necro).
