QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Aug 2 2005, 05:39 AM) QUOTE (Arndrake @ Aug 2 2005, 10:35 AM) The entire album is great with no bad songs, just like Dark Side IMHO. I know some people will think I'm deranged, but I think WYWH is far superior to Dark Side
Yes thats exactly how I feel about Wish You Were Here aswell. A truley fantastic album and after careful thought and deliberation, I have decided that Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V) is my favorite out of the lot. It's just so....peaceful and easy going! Love it

I went to see Constantine when it was release in the cinemas, and I thought it was well worth seeing. On the contrary to Dweezil, I thought Keanu Reeves did an great job of playing Constantine!
I found the whole stroy and plot line was very interesting and kept me intreged for the couple of hours it was on. Deffinatly worth a look IMHO

ATWAS by far! The first live album I bought and still remains my favorite. The other releases just dont have that raw and frantic sound that's burried within this recording

Plus ca change
Plus c'est la meme chose
The more that things change
The more they stay the same
I use that little quote all the time

Fly By Night gets my vote for the following reasons:
By-Tor and the Snowdog! I cannot express my sheer love for this song!
The only song that i'll skip on FBN is Rivendell, however for CoS I tend to just listen to Bastille Day and the Necromancer.
Anthem just gets better every time I hear it, especially the bass behind the solo
Oh and did I mention By-Tor?

I love that 'Tom Sawyer' clip! I never imagined an awesome guitar solo working so well on a violin

YYZ (first Rush song I learned)
Spirit of Radio
Tom Sawyer
Red Sector A
All on DrumsSpirit of Radio is not an easy task on guitar!! My fingers just wernt made to move that fast on the main riff
Did you by any chance read the very last thing I wrote in my post?
Yes, but I was just stating the fact that I cant play Spirit of Radio on guitar. Nothing wrong with that is there?

QUOTE (sfuentes @ Apr 9 2005, 07:52 PM) QUOTE (yyzyy @ Mar 29 2005, 07:37 PM) I don't think Territories is on electric drums??
But too broad of a topic....BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE.....I would have to say Jacob's Ladder...It's so hard to get dead on all the off-beat rhythms, and yet he does it with such ease...Definetely up there in 'Peart's best'.It is on the electronic drums. You can tell in the beginning.
Cool I wasnt aware he ever used an electronic kit!
For me though his drumming through Vapour Trails was imense.

The Green Mile...Thats one tear jerker of an ending

One Little Victory
Earthshine

If you're looking to play a lengthy song then I recomend Cygnus X-1. The only thing that threw me was the odd odd odd time signitures...
-
The opening riff for Cygnus X1. It just swells and swells into a frenzy! Truely great.

Catchy Songs
in Rush
It was a tough choice between Fly By Night and New World Man...
But New World Man emurged victorious. Its just plain fun to sing along to!

QUOTE (Steel Rat @ Feb 27 2005, 04:07 PM) It took me 3 days to learn Closer to the Heart for guitar.
Still needs to be perfected, but I know everything about it needed to know
I love that song... fun and easy song to start with.Agreed
It was the first song I learnt to play when i was 15. Im now 16 and it's almost second nature! Bastille Day is fun to play aswell...the solo's tricky...but practice makes perfect!

Placebo's debut album entitled 'Placebo' was the first CD I went out anfd bought with my own cash. I'd heard it being played round one of my friend's house and thought it was fantastic. Bought it, loved it, still love it, bought all the others near instantly from amazon!
