QUOTE (summer_sky @ Feb 26 2011, 06:46 AM) mmmm, Chicken Cordon Bleu has long been a fav of mine mine too i personally like mine with a side of fresh steamed asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Ingredients
* 4 double chicken breasts (about 7-ounces each), skinless and boneless
* Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
* 8 thin slices deli ham
* 16 thin slices Swiss cheese
* 1 tsp dijon mustard per breast
* 2 cups (approx) chicken broth
* 4 tbsp (approx) melted butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lay the chicken between 2 pieces of plastic wrap. Using the flat side of a meat mallet, gently pound the chicken to 1/4-inch thickness. Take care not to pound too hard because the meat may tear or create holes. Lay 2 slices of cheese on each breast, followed by 1 slice of ham, spread the 1 tsp dijon mustard over the ham, then lay the second slice of ham, then 2 more of cheese; leaving a 1/2-inch margin on all sides to help seal the roll. Tuck in the sides of the breast and roll up tight like a jellyroll. Squeeze the log gently to seal. Use toothpicks if necessary to hold the edges together. Place all in high sided baking dish, fill dish halfway up the sides of the breasts with chicken broth. Brush the tops of each breast with melted butter, salt and pepper the tops of each. Bake for 20 minutes until cooked through. Cut into pinwheels before serving.
Not really horribly difficult, and amazingly tasty

QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Feb 24 2011, 03:42 PM) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Feb 24 2011, 01:15 PM) See, I love bacon, but I love a nice tender steak so much more, so I had to go with Beef. the steak must be cooked perfectly though. medium rare because anything longer and it turns into a piece od shoe leather.
This is very true...I'm very picky about what I choose for a cut of meat. I like a filet mignon, very difficult to overcook because they're cut so thick. I won't eat anything that's more cooked than medium rare - has to be at least a little bit mooing still

QUOTE (Mara @ Feb 24 2011, 02:14 PM) If you took a blood sample from me and tested it, I'm pretty sure it would come up at least 50% Diet Mountain Dew. I've never tried the White Out, but have been none too crazy about the other variations thus far.
What I don't get is the "caffeine-free" Mountain Dew. What's the point? A big selling point for MD is the caffeine amperage. . .I personally don't like any Mountain Dew other than the White Out version - but I don't think I would have drank it if it didn't have Caffeine LOL

QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Feb 24 2011, 12:25 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Feb 24 2011, 11:32 AM) FYI: Your coffee should foam when poured or else it is probably a bad cup made from cheap coffee beans. I love pouring freshly-ground coffee into the press pot, then pouring the hot water in and seeing that nice layer of foam sitting on top.
huh...I don't think I've ever seen that on anything other than a latte or cappuccino? certainly not on my home coffee maker?
As for the coffee I drink most often, it's Dunkin Donuts all the way! I'm not a fan of Starbucks - too bitter for my tastes. I'm not familiar with more gourmet coffee beans because we don't have the extra funds to purchase it LOL I know my cousin loves Sumatran blend?

QUOTE (The Owl @ Feb 23 2011, 08:52 PM) ...ps.. am I the only one here who puts their coffee grounds in the freezer? It keeps it fresh longer.... I think..
I have a grinder, but have not bought actual beans in a whilewhen you freeze the beans/grounds you actually lose a lot of the oils in the coffee. You're better off keeping it in a sealed canister, especially if you drink it often enough.

I actually really like White Out. I think it tastes kind of like a combination of Sprite and Fresca - only with Caffeine. That is a necessary component in any soda I drink

His new signature model Les Paul I SOOOO want one!!!!I know! But man, that's way too rich for me... unless I get a kick-ass insurance settlement. Then I might think about it. but I'd really rather have the signature 355.
I know, me too....I wish I could afford it, but it would take a lottery win for me to get it

QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Aug 20 2010, 04:25 PM) QUOTE (Mr. Krinkle @ Aug 19 2010, 03:21 PM) I can only imagine how much Gibson will be asking for it. Watch it be $20,000
And yet Geddy's signature bass was once $600
lol Tarkey It's cause it was a Japanese made Fender Jazz Bass - if it were a Fender USA Jazz Bass, it would have easily gotten at least $1500-$2000. I have it - the only Rush Signature instrument I will probably ever be able to afford

QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Feb 21 2011, 12:12 AM) QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Feb 20 2011, 11:27 PM) QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Feb 20 2011, 11:16 PM) QUOTE (NobodysHeroine @ Feb 20 2011, 08:48 PM) QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Feb 20 2011, 08:04 PM) Yeah, this year it's 7th row (center?) and 17th Geddy...I know I'm gonna be spoiled after this!!! Lucky.
I'm getting spoiled, myself, and it's my first ever Rush show. I'm in row six of Section D, which is right behind Section A and on Geddy's side. [That was as close as I was going to get without buying the really expensive tickets.] I'll be like twenty-some rows away from the sexy bass god. I'll do my best to get at least halfway decent pics from the Detroit show -- which happens to be less than two months away.
I am so excited!!!
I'll be thinking of you Geddy girls while I'm there. If my pics are any good, I'll post them soon after I get home from the venue. It's a three hour drive to get there, and the show will end at like eleven o'clock at night, so I'll have to stay at a hotel in order to get some sleep. And it's on a Sunday. I can't go back to school sleep-deprived. But I'll definitely have something to talk about when I do go back.
I've got 5th row, Geddy's side for Hershey, 2nd row, Geddy's side for MSG, 12th row center for Cleveland, and 9th row, Geddy's side for The Gorge. Not sure on Portland, yet, as I have not bought them.
I got spoiled this last tour...
We're in the nosebleeds for Cleveland... Oh, well, I'm happy to be going at all!
I have a friend who seems to be quite talented when it comes to getting excellent seats at a Rush show. He'll pick them up for me when he buys his. I have hit-and-miss luck when it comes to getting good Rush seats.
I'm gonna have to give you money to get our seats the next time you come out this way for a show LOL

QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Feb 18 2011, 09:57 AM) Last night was bad. SO BAD.
Two long crying jags, one because a certain Bob the Builder VHS episode isn't on YouTube. Miserable for all involved. Hitting head, hitting me, screaming.
And I can't reason with him. I can't explain that some stuff just isn't there. I can't figure out how to use pictures to explain this. And just letting him cry it out drives me to the brink of insanity. Seriously.I think this one has a slot load - not sure, cause it doesn't say, but I don't see anywhere on there where a tray would be, either pop-out or pop-up. Plus it also plays writable discs so you can keep a copy at home, in the car, etc and have one for the portable dvd player too. Oh, and it's dual screen too.
