  1. QUOTE (Mara @ Jul 25 2011, 10:24 AM)
My sister-in-law visited this weekend. She's always been one of those "I can't stand Geddy Lee's high screechy voice" Rush-haters. She is 62 years old but does love her rock; she accompanies my husband (her brother) to AC/DC and KISS concerts, among others. Big fan of classic metal.

Well, she mentioned yesterday that the guy she has painting her kitchen is a huge Rush fan - he told her "they have the best live show ever". (Truth).

Never one to pass on an obvious opportunity, I put Moving Pictures in and let her listen to a couple of tracks. She had NEVER known that "Tom Sawyer" was Rush. . . ohmy.gif

Then it was on to Signals. She was blown away by Alex's solo on The Analog Kid, for starters. All in all we spent probably an hour and a half on a "sampler platter" of Rush, and I sent her off home with the documentary and a couple of CDs. She really listened with new ears.

I did, however, avoid everything pre-Permanent Waves, since that would have only reinforced her "Geddy is too screechy" stereotype.

    Very cool.

    I know!! Why gray?????

Native Americans associate gray with friendship. Gray is the symbol for security, maturity and dependability. It connotes responsibility and conservative practicality.

Gray clothing suggests efficiency and is often used for this in the business world....

    friendship + security + dependability + responsibility + practicality + efficiency = Al's penis.
