Cygnus
Finally got around to trying Spring Turkey hunting. Been watching shows on TV. Seen many turkeys during the deer season, but never got to go during mating season. I got all set up with decoys and a box call. As the sun roze I could hear a gobbler in the distance, but could not get him to come....so after an hour or so I went stalking. I could hear but not see him. Moving slowly eventually I got a glimps...There he was struttin his stuff, but with several hens around He showed no interest in my calls. http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/images/history_of_turkey/florida.jpg Still couldn't get close enough but I snuck up behind the closest tree and waited. after thirty minutes or so, the hens started heading my way, so I hit the ground and layed still, They walked by and a few minutes later the Tom began to follow in full strut...Thats all she wrote... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v703/RushForum/DSCN0414.jpg Osceola Wild Turkey
