I listen to almost all types of music. The only category of music I haven't liked listening to is rap.

Kendrick's to pimp a butterfly Incredable as a piece of music forget genre a sec. it's a phenominal work of music.

Mick

I have to agree. TPAB is definitely not a typical hip hop album. It's musically very creative and diverse. Plus it has very good lyrical themes.

Alright is my favorite thing on that album.

I've been on a Rap/Hip Hop kick lately and went to searching and found this lovely thread. For those of you that don't know, there is a Beastie Boys documentary airing on Apple TV on April 24th. I don't have Apple TV but I think you can watch from any Apple product (iPad, iPhone)? Not sure but I'm going to try it. And you can sign up for a free trial to Apple Music

Here is the trailer. It will start after a couple seconds

I'm not big on rap, but I like Beastie Boys & A Tribe Called Quest

Beasties were The Clash of rap in that they expanded their sound. They weren’t afraid to branch out especially with their instrumentals. They started out as a hardcore punk band with a female member that later had one hit in 1997 called Naked Eye with Luscious Jackson.

Outkast is another example especially since Andre sings along with rapping. Love Below may be the best Prince album not made by Prince. Speakerboxxx by Big Boi has some good ones as well like Unhappy and the anti war...War.

I got it for a year for free since I got the most recent Apple TV model last September.

Yeah I got mine middle of January and the free year of Apple TV ended Jan 31st! Oh well at least I got a week free and I went ahead and got a month for $4.99. I want to watch The Morning Show.

I didn't get much into hip hop until the past year or so, but I'm glad I did. My favorite rapper is Mac Miller.
