yea i don't Hate PJ.  i just don't don't hear the knock  out brilliance Segue does.  if they'd dissapeared after ten and vs. i'd be more agreeable, lol

Soundgarden knocks my socks off now.  I LOVE the stoner garage vibe. and Chris was NOT human.

technically the best singer from the era of these bands IMO.

Mick

He found a sweet spot between his chest and head voices and learned how to navigate it smoother than a fresh jar of skippy. I’ve now spent most of my morning trying to do the same…. lol.

So i am trying to get into more modern rock.

Its a struggle...

...then today I discovered Nothing More who have shades of Coheed And Cambria, Thrice, 30 Seconds To Mars and other things I enjoy...all on their debut.

I won't lie, the band I suspected Sleep Token could become sound an awful lot like Nothing More!

How I never heard of these guys is insane to me. In 2009 I was all about this style, and I LOVE it!

They've had some good success over here. I know that they've had a few songs that have gone to number one on the mainstream rock charts. They're opening for Disturbed in the US right now. Nothing I've heard from them has ever stuck with me though. I know who they are but can't remember what any of their songs sound like.

I am really enjoying them a lot, but they genuinely sound like a slightly modernised take on what I was already listening too as a teenager.

Rival sons and Black Crowes.

Rival Sons have been in my sight for a while and if you're looking for a band to Scratch that classic rock itch.  to me theis is the band.  i have a hard with what 's been called rock rivial bands cause so many just sound like pale imitations but Rival sons sound like they're paying homage.  while having totally they're own thing.

And  Black Crowes i just sleep on over and over and why???? i LOVE them.

I saw them open for Disturbed last Friday! They were quite good. Great energy but I'll be damned I remembered anything beyond the energy they projected. My GF had them on in the car on the way back and I didn't even notice.

I did want to go to that show but I'm probably not going to go to any big arena or stadium shows until the ridiculous ticket prices go down. The tickets I was looking at were in the $130-$160 range. After fees we're talking over $200 bucks for a single ticket. I've been a fan of Disturbed since their first album but they are not a spend $200 on a ticket kind of band for me. I'm also skipping out on seeing Metallica in Syracuse next week with their $320 tickets. I mean come on. People shouldn't have to skip a car payment just to see a couple of shows. The pricing is absolutely out of hand. I have no problem going to see a band I like at a smaller/mid sized venue where the tickets are under $100 apiece.

Really?! I ended up paying $40 for nosebleeds which is about what I paid for Rush 13 years ago. Tickets prices must have come down hard in the last few weeks leading up to the show

I wasn't looking for nosebleeds. I actually wanted to have tickets lower down so it actually felt like I was at a concert. Those ticket prices were right from Ticketmaster.

Bruce Springsteen

I think I've become known a lot for my love for Pearl Jam, but I won't ever claim they match my Springsteen.

Hos discography is not without fault, but the man has created my favourite discography in music.

This one is getting me NO credit.  but when have a cared?

Jimmy Buffett.

Yes he's known as the Cheeseburger margaritaville jokester but Aside from his persona.  I actually LOVE him as a songwriter.  some of his deeper cuts are WONDERFUL.  it's just his brand took over the music.

My first time streaming albums from The Replacments this week.  I’m currently on Tim.

i just went through a lot of Hüsker so I might as well keep on with the theme of Minnesota proto grunge and college rock.

I always thought they were better than a lot of the other radio metal bands from that era. Pete is a legitimately good guitarist

Its been a long time since I delved into AOR, but it truly is one of my favourite genres in rock history.

So, I have been blasting a lot of Journey, Survivor, Strangeways, Toto, Foreigner, Trillion, Styx alongside Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac.

I just love this style at the moment.

A band on the rise for me as well is UFO.

Does Steely Dan count as AOR?

not fully but they have done AOR adjacent tunes.

Funny thing is SD isn't ANY genre.  to me they're just SD ya know, lol.

they've dabbled in multiple styles. But i have described them as upside down Toto.  take that as you will or Toto is rightside up SD.  cause SD came first:laugh:
