Mick My issue isn't that I don't like those Slash albums, it's just the reason I came to love Myles voice with AB changed subsequently. grep
I'm on a major Pallas and Marllion kick. For about a year now. Glass Hammer too. With a sprinkling of Tiles.

Different than Rush or Floyd - they do their own thing. But similar in many ways. I ignored them for years. Discovering both them and Pallas recently, for me, is almost like discovering Rush again. YMMV. Start anywhere in the catalog and roam around. It's all good.

Segue Myles
Rush, and the band that lead me to them in the first place, Mastodon. I still feel the two bands are oddly alike in many ways (just not sound so much, just their intense musicality and...ability to be over the top and insanely addictive).
Segue Myles
Nightwish!!! Human Nature is getting some spins, but new album Yesterwynde is really growing on me today. I'm sick of modern metal production sounding so...muffled, but the album itself is increasingly appealing.
Entre_Perpetuo
Last week it was Death Cab, Jimmy Eat World, and Liz Phair, in prep for HFStival where I saw them all on Saturday. Fantastic show, except Jimmy had technical issues and I think they must have cut a couple songs because of them since they didn’t play anything from Clarity. But! They were still great. Union 5-3992
Been watching the Tragically Hip documentary on Prime. It's really well done and that's gotten me back into the band lately. Also been deep on pre-Dark Side Pink Floyd too.

Jimmy...I have no idea how they are the band they are with such a small fanbase. If there was any justice in the world, they would have the same reach as Green Day or My Chemical Romance! But I guess being a cult concern is no small feat. Those of us who love them...we really LOVE them. Same goes for DCFC and Copeland.

Most people just know The Middle, which is honestly tragic, cuz I love that song to death but Sweetness and A Praise Chorus are easily just as radio ready and awesome, and people don’t know them! Meanwhile just mentioning Death Cab around alt/indie/emo fans is sorta like mentioning Led Zeppelin around classic rockers.

But trust me...at leat people know DC and Jimmy. No one knows Copeland

Segue Myles
Nightwish and In Flames I don't believe Nightwish are the best they have ever been. But I've really come to love HumaN Nature and Yesterwynde.
bluefox4000
Nightwish. I did a run of Tarja-the Anette era yesterday. i'll finish it soon. I've gained a new Appretiation for Tarja though i feel her run is super spotty. Like....i'll do a full ranking soon in the thread but i only love 2 tarja albums. Oceanborn Century Child the Debut......is what it is...... Wishmaster is good. Once is a fav with fans but to me Has staggering highs but really boring lows. i think this phase was amazing in the moment but with hindsught really growing pains one. Now the Anette era was when i think they found a groove. those 2 albums are amazing. the hooks in this era were AOR level. Then i find out she was an AOR singer, lol. I do prefer Dark Passion Play But Imaginaerum is no slouch. i wish this era got a few more albums cause i think it was the peak of their powers. I have to listen to the last 3 and honestly.......well we'll see, lol Mick
Chicken hawk
RUSH Neil Peart 3rd Best Drummer of all time https://consequence.net/list/100-best-drummers-of-all-time/chris-adler Neil Peart, photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images Band(s): Rush Name another drummer in the rock-pop-prog-fusion idiom who thoroughly composed his parts for every song, never deviating live or otherwise, applied his vision to a 30+ piece electric/acoustic 360 degree orchestral rock kit, and somehow managed to make every part musical, seamless, and iconic. He also wrote the lyrics almost every Rush song. I don't care if you don't like Rush, Neil is undeniable. —Pat McGee (Stars) Rush is another impressive array of three otherworldly musicians. The technicality and precision is jaw dropping. I was quite busy on drums early on in the Pixies because of him. Quite a formative band for me when I was younger and learning drums. — David Lovering (Pixies)

It was a demo that their label at the time, Spinefarm records, chose to release just as it was. Ultimately, it paid off and got the ball rolling for Oceanborn, which made them stars in certain markets before Wishmaster proved they had commercial potential. But yes, AFF is an odd album because, realistically, it's not a finished project.
