Bands You're Obsessing Over Right Now

i just played Drones  that was really good.

i also realized.  and this is true.......Muse is just a bit of fun  Especially later Muse. Again i don't think they'll ever top those original 4 for me but i FINALLY have an apreciation for the band they are now.

and i realize the negative reaction was way Over the top.

it's just a band man.  they didn't personally kick your pet, lol

Mick

EXACTLY!  I think the problem kinda starts with the early Radiohead comparisons that wouldn’t go away. They did have some pretty similar aspects to Radiohead’s sound early on, but I think a lot of people equated that with Muse being the same kind of band as Radiohead, when even on those early albums I think you can tell they have a much more over dramatic and unserious attitude about them, which they finally got the opportunity to fully indulge after the first four records. Also yay Drones! That one actually makes my top 3!

being a massive radiohead fan.  i think the only record that was blatantly Radiohead was the Showbiz but i don't think the holds much water after.  ok maybe in matt's vocals but that's it.

But they immediately mix more influences than just radiohead after.  Queen being the notable one, lol.

Muse.

but don't tell Segue......he'll shout at me:oops:

I played The 2nd law and Simulation Theory and enjoyed both?

A wall may have been crashed through.  BUT.........one bullet point......i still prefer classic Muse.

Mick

Hey Mick , it’s good you’ve revisited , and now appreciate a bit more Muse’s latter period a bit more 👏😎👍🙂

1  Steve Perry (cause he has to go here)

2. Freddie Mercury

3.  The Mighty Ronnie James Dio

4,  Ann Wilson:wub:

5. Don Henley.

Done henley might be a shock choice to some but i've seen him live twice dude sing the ABC'S for 3 hours and i'd be enthralled, lol

Been a long time since I thought much about it, the old list would’ve looked something like this:

1. Freddie

2. Steven Tyler

3. Michael Jackson

4. Geddy

5. Matt Bellamy

however MJ has definitely fallen off for me as I just don’t listen to him all that much, and I definitely feel like Steven is more of a top 20 guy for me anymore, I’ve just gotten into so many other things since I got hooked on his voice.

Pretty big 😂. I have a vast memory, and I'm deeply invested in all my favorite topics. I could talk to anyone about music for hours on end. I think it's a combination of me being on the spectrum, and consuming too much caffeine.
