Bands You're Obsessing Over Right Now

Recommended Posts

Playing Steel The Light.

This is wonderful! I get a Dokken vibe from the vocals. What great stuff!!

I envy those who lived through the eighties. And earlier.

I Wouldn't wish the 80s on my worst enemy.

 Fashion-wise, for sure! I just went to a 30th wedding anniversary and in pictures of the original wedding I'm sporting a nullet and wearing a ridiculous Miami Vice sportscoat. Yellow, of course. Probably wearing pink loafers, too!

Nothing, and I repeat, nothing was worse than the 70s!

Every decade looks back at the previous ones and how goofy the fashions look to them. Usually the most outlandish stuff is pulled up for comparison. Par for the course.

But this is nowhere as bad as leasure suits and plaid. Lots of plaid.

That last one looks more like how the people I knew dressed.

^ Yeah, I remember going to movies in the late '70s and early '80s and thinking, who dresses like that!? I think even at the time we'd look at plaid polyester suit ads and laugh, it isn't just in hindsight.

For me:

Rush (not just saying that, have been replaying Dallas R40 a lot lately)

Eric Church (country singer/songwriter that rocks a lot)

R.E.M. (missed a lot of their stuff the first time around)

I go thru phases where I Listen to them a lot. My favorites

Document

Fables if the Reconstruction

Lifes Rich Pageant

Dead Letter Offfice

New Adventures in HiFi

Green

Only one of those do I not own, and haven't heard- New Adventures. Highly recommended?

Yes. I really like it.

Murmur, since the day it was released, is the best thing they ever recorded!

The Poopy Poops

You too?

They're just so great, aren't they?

Which album is your fave?

Mine is "The Little Boy's Room"

The first time I ever heard them, I knew that had it in them to make it B. I. G.

LBR is good, but "Trans Fixx" is stellar! Have you heard it?

I'm going to go listen to it right now. :)
