Mr. Not Posted November 2, 2016 Share Posted November 2, 2016 About "The National Anthem" A fun fact to get out of the way about this one is that Thom Yorke both wrote and recorded the bass line for this song, so Colin actually didn't contribute anything to this song as far as I know... I think I know where Thom got the inspiration for this bass line too... Though I haven't been able to find much on it over the internet, I think that the very brief opening tune for "Robin" (the cartoon featured in the Paranoid Android music video -- one which Thom and Johnny said they loved and related to earlier on in their career.. It is a great little show by the way, it's on youtube in full ) is what inspired it.
