I always liked the quality and tone of Geddy's voice better (the last few years not withstanding.) But even on Clockwork Angels, I thought Geddy's voice was really good in the studio.

This isn't really a fair question, as Debut thru Hemispheres, Geddy is probably my favorite vocalist of all time ..

Rik Emmett is more smooth, more natural and effortless, but I really love Geddy's unique tone and emotion, not to mention the fact that if the extraterrestrials who built the Great Pyramid had left some sound clips of their voices, I imagine it would sound a lot like Cygnus X1, Anthem or Circumstances

I look at Rik's voice as a gift. His guitar playing represents a talent. His voice is out of this world.

I love Ged's voice, but Rik's is something "other". However, Clockwork Angels is a real high point for Geddy.

I guess I'll go with Geddy since I had to look up who the other guy is, lol.

you are missing out!

Not really. Triumph had some decent hits in the 80s but none of it was anything that special.

These are the reasons I voted Rik Emmett. Still, banshee wail Geddy was a force of nature.

Rik, but I'm a way bigger fan of Rush.

For me, uniqueness of timbre beats all the other stuff - range, technique, vibrato, melisma and all that stuff.

Geddy's timbre, especially with the 70s rawness and vibrato, slays Emmett's pure, bland, nice-guy tone.

IMHO, Geddy sings with soul, Rik Emmett does not.

This is the first time in history the word "soul" has ever been used in connection with Rush.

Wrong! Rush covered "Mr. Soul" on Feedback.

And remember, Hemispheres was about how every soul was a battlefield.

:D
