A "true fan," in my eyes, is someone who has an appreciation for the majority of an artist's body of work, such as myself. "True fans" don't disregard an entire decade—or, in some cases, multiple decades—of an artist's career. I've said before that people who don't like anything Rush has done since 1982 aren't true fans to me. Now, I am certainly not in a position of any authority that makes my statement absolute, but I will say that I consider myself a "truer" Rush fan than many people on here.

My name is Blue J...and I am a Middling Rush Fan. And I'd like to sue this thread for false advertising.

I had heard something about free popcorn, and refreshments?

:eyeroll:

What am I going to do with you True Rush Fans??

I don't know, but they have been my favorite artist since 1974. Also, I prefer ANY Rush to any other bands music (not that I don't listen to any other music). Edited by Mr. JD

I consider myself a true fan because i am a fan of each era. However I am not obsessive about owning everything thing like Rush shoelaces or golf bags but anything new in music or video i'll grab.My late brother in law was a true Rolling Stones fan.His collection was that immense that Bill Wyman made contact with him.Who else would own a hundred plus vinyl copies of Sticky Fingers all apparently different in some way.I never go more than three days without listening, watching, reading or strumming on my guitar something Rush.Oh and i check this website everyday. Now don't tell Neal, obsessive fan alert.

If someone sincerely enjoys the music of a particular band or artist I think you can consider that someone a fan. Now, being a fanatic is another story... you can turn something enjoyable and beneficial into a colossal waste of time. Edited by ReRushed

Wait I am not a true fan because I do not own a single copy of Fly By Night,on cd,vinyl, cassette or download and my Sector 1 box has strangely grown legs. This problem will be corrected today.

I used to be a major Rush fanboy, but then again Rush used to produce really good albums. ;)

I respect that. You're no TrueRushFan™. You're being honest in what you are.

We can still be friends.

What is the difference between a casual fan, a faux fan and a True RUSH Fan???

Easy answers dude but I appreciate the deep insightful question.

First you MUST have an appreciation, respect and enjoyment of 90% of the band's music/songs. That 90% must come from all three eras. The Golden BROON Era, The Synth Era and the Modern Era.

B: with exceptions for Millennials and EXTREME hardship you MUST have attended three live shows. PM me if you need to fill out the proper form for a Hardship Waiver. I'm warning y'all now getting married and have two crumb crunchers is NOT HARDSHIP.

3: YOU MUST LEGALLY own 90% of the band's music/songs. Format doesn't matter.

A true fan is someone who loves All of the bands output, including Tai Shan. Listens to them almost exclusively. Thinks no one in the band can do any wrong. Every concert is perfect, every reissue and greatest hits are worth paying for. Have walls and shelves covered in rush gear.

More or less, those are the characteristics.

If you think it will help at this point, then, yes.
